- I've actually played the game, and I swear, Peasely is definitely the one who starts it. He gives a gold rose to Luigi for God's sake.
Eventually, it's true Luigi does get attached to him, but I think Peasely is a jerkface so in my own AU of the Mario universe, Luigi dislikes Peasely now.
