Good job! But animation has some lighting issues. I hope you will learn the trade as days gone by. By the way who is teaching you design and animation?

thanks, yes i know I by mistake overlooked it in last stage.
There are dozens of teachers for different subjects. 3d was taught by the gr8 Mr.Zubair-uddin (lastly in ARY Zauq)(now he is in Lahore).

Your welcome.
On a scale of 1 to 10 how hard is it to use Maya?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

choudryarif In reply to authorofenigma [2010-09-02 10:21:04 +0000 UTC]

This is a bit long thing plz bare with me,

well i have been having same talks with my friends who r forcing me to believe maya is hard then 3d max, so i installed Max few days before ( i started my 3d in max then came to maya in college) and you wont believe they are identical in many cases and for a good result you have to know your way, but im still feeling fluency and ease of use in maya , so final conclusion is maya looks hard in start due to many features and menus but practice it for few weeks and you will feel like flying, but that DOES NOT mean u should not learn other softwares, every soft got its own + & - features

goodluck

authorofenigma In reply to choudryarif [2010-09-23 22:56:33 +0000 UTC]

So, what i get from it, is that it starts out hard, but progressively gets easier?
If that's the case, then I'll try Maya out.
Thanks for the advice.

GORGEOUS animation! I love the lighting, and the textures are pretty sweet as well. I also loved the organ at the beginning there and how the keys were playing themselves at the opening. The music kept time with the instruments perfectly, and the little floating light motes gave it a really nice magical feeling.

My one complaint is that the conductor is only shown briefly at the beginning. I certainly understand the desire to keep the spotlight on such a fine group of instruments, but I also feel like having him appear one or two more times would underscore the performance a bit more.

Pachelbel's Canon in D is my single favourite song EVER (I know I am so weird) and you really did it justice with this animation.

Hi there!

I really like your intro picture, you've done a beautiful job of lighiting it (though it's a little blown out in the bottom left hand corner). Unfortunately some of the shots in the video need a bit more work. For exmaple, the closeup of the violin has it all in shadow, and it actually looks 2D because the body is hidden in the shadows.

After watching your video, my main critique is that your animation is really really floaty. When you look at people playing instruments, they have sharp, jerky movements. It can be sharp and long, or sharp and short, and it is controlled, but it is always sharp. Check out some videos of people playing instruments and maybe sharpen up the animation to give it a more realisitic look.

holy god....that was incredible! you animated it brilliantly. I've done a few small ones myself and I know how hard it can be but that was great- especially the conductors excited finger wiggle

lycan-rising In reply to choudryarif [2010-08-03 07:11:26 +0000 UTC]

XD i completely agree. The timing to music is great too, do you play the violin or were you just animating the *forgets name* randomly? because if it was random, it certainly looked like it was aiming for certain strings.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

choudryarif In reply to lycan-rising [2010-08-03 07:16:25 +0000 UTC]

I loved the music so was just animating, and it was play|pause|play|pause|play again type thing, i tried to animate on the music by placing it on time-line.

In this composition Notes transfer from one violin to another in original video is Really Awesome

lycan-rising In reply to choudryarif [2010-08-03 11:10:09 +0000 UTC]

i once had to do some animation based off my own narrative, it was a nightmare...

yeah, i completely understand.

so you actually animated the violins playing the correct notes?
