... So I stumbled across a comic someone made centered around a bunch of Cartoon Network shows today - mainly the Powerpuff Girls and Dexter's Laboratory, but other characters show up in cameos and such.
Reading that ignited the flames of nostalgia, as I absolutely loved Dexter's Laboratory when I was younger. Of course, what with a lack of cable TV, I couldn't watch it much, but when I was at my grandparents' house, it was Cartoon Network aaaaaaall daaaaaaay.

I even went so far as to go back and watch a few of the Dexter's Lab episodes.
... I must admit, most were incredibly silly (for one, I didn't remember how absolutely ridiculous Dexter's voice was XD), though there were a couple that tickled my fancy.

This is what my brain spewed forth because of this revisiting my childhood. A weird lulzy mixture of childhood nostalgia and current, erm, obsessions. Passions? I don't know what word to use to make it not sound... bad.

I also would have made Dexter shorter in comparison to Otto but I kind of drew him first, so...

This will probably be moved to scraps in a day or so unless someone objects.

Disclaimery stuff.
I do not own Dexter or his lab, nor do I own Otto. :U

If it was Otto Osworth from Time Squad so both characters should look cool...

I love how you draw Octavius. He's perfect.

You read PPGD? i love that comic! And instead of Otto from the time squad it's Otto Octavius. I'm not the biggest Spiderman fan (i'm really not all that savvy on the general series kuz whatever i know i learned from asking my older brother) but i gotta say, this made my day.

...oh hey that rhymes...

It caught my interest because of Dexter, to be quite honest. I did like PPG back in the day too though, so the comic really sparked a lot of nostalgia - buuuut mostly for Dexter. XD
I wish the Zim comic would be updated more often than never <_<

And I'm glad it brightened someone's day. I've also found that Dexter's particularly fun and/or amusing to draw so... yeh. Might be posting a dump of Dexter at some point when I scan all my crap in XD

It was rather nostalgic for me too, what with time squad, ppg and dexter's lab. ...And ESPECIALLY Samurai Jack. Not so much with it's other crossovers with Grim Adventures and stuff, mostly because those are still playing. In fact, i discovered Grim Tales first. But i gotta Thank . If it weren't for him, i would never know what anime was. .... Nor would i know what Invader Zim was, because he took shows that i know and love, mixed them with shows that i didn't know (and an anime (animesque?) style) and introduced me to to so many of the things that i know today. (you see, i discovered ppgd when i was 10 or 11.. and i'm 13 now). Man, i wish the the IZ comic was updated too. more recently took up the comic from when he gave it up, but since Bleed has PPGD, Sugar Bits and Grim Tales: After Birth to work on... well, it will take a while.

And... Yay a Dexter Dump! (lol, THAT doesn't sound weird).

... Long comment >.> sorry

Ah, Samurai Jack... I have a bit of nostalgia over that as well, even though I never actually saw it on Cartoon Network (no cable, remember). I ended up watching them from a DVD of the first season with my older sister - the episode with the Scottish bagpipe guy and the one with Aku's "fairy tales" stick out the most in my mind.

Oddly, Grim Tales was also the first thing I read on that site... O.o I should probably reread that sometime; it's been a while since that first read-through happened.

Long comments are perfectly fine. I'm particularly wordy myself so I don't mind at all.

Aku's fairy tales is my favorite

Wow, coincidental. Of course, when i first found Grim Tales, it was actually on a You-Tube video.

....man i love youtube.

I think I came across Grim Tales on a forum or something... I remember making a topic about webcomics, posting what my favorites were at the time (Zap! in Space was one of them - I still really like it. It's interesting to watch how the artist's style develops along the way) and asking what other peoples' favorites were. Grim Tales was one of the ones that was posted.

YouTube is indeed awesome. |3 Lets me watch footage (with some hilarious commentary too) of video games that I'd likely never be able to play.
...
Like Assassin's Creed ;A;
I started watching a playthrough of Brotherhood and I want to play it - any of the games, actually - so badly now.
even had a dream where I was running around climbing crap like Ezio XD
then again I've also had at least one dream where I was Spider-Man so this is somewhat normal for me |D

The only game consoles i have are the Wii and a nintendo DS. And i don't really have the money to buy any more games so... i know how you feel -.-;

I have weird fandom dreams too. In fact, just the other night i dreamed i was in Hollow Bastion from Kingdom Hearts.

Pff, you have one more console than I do. :/ I've only got my handhelds... a couple of old GBCs, a GBA, and my DSLite. :I My sister had an N64 that I used to play Ocarina of Time on, but since she's moved out, the N64 went with her.

The problem for me isn't quite so much money - I think I've got enough money for one of the older-ish consoles like a PS2 or something. The problem is the fact that I don't have a TV of my own, and the one downstairs has so many things already attached to it (DVD player, 2 VCRs, and the box that came with the TV <_<) that you can't get in to plug anything in ANYWAY. So basically in order to play any video games besides handheld stuff I'd have to buy a TV, a console, and the game. -_-;

That sucks. Sorry My problem is pretty much just with money. Even if i have a wii and now officially 2 games to go with it, the remotes need batteries, which i currently don't have, and neither me nor my parents have extra money to buy them with. -.-; So, i can't play the wii anyway.

Hm... two words: Rechargeable batteries. You'll have to shell out a bit more for them, but I'm pretty sure they'll save you money in the long run.

Looks like we'll both have to save our pennies then. :/

Yeah, i could use those... in fact i think we used to have some but the charging thing we were supposed to put the batteries broke. And now the actual batteries are missing... wonderful.

I only saw a few Dexter's Lab episodes since Cartoon Network was never something we watched at home, but the one thing that always boggled me was how his mom was supposed to walk with those leeeetle tiny feet..

Yeah, that was something I noticed as I was rewatching them too. XD That, and how Dexter could have such a ridiculous accent while the rest of his family was relatively normal. Ish.

Mrr, I've just gotten used to drawing them, so it really doesn't take me all that long. :T Though to be honest, it's easy to get lazy on the last one or two...

*preens* Myes, it is. |D Seriously though, I have been practicing.
