Prisma colour pencils on a4 card

This was mostly experimental for me, I tried using a sharp knife to scratch colour away and add texture to the piece and I tried new ways of blending the pencils with alcohol and oils, I also tried a blending pen to get a smoother transition on the bubbles...
If I'm being honest I'm not 100% happy with the result here and I'm tempted to give up on the green backdrop for good!

I am working on something a little different and I'm mixing media all over it so I should get a better understanding of how things work together... This has certainly given me a better understanding of the limitations of pencils as a medium though, and for that I'm very grateful!!
