What if Rodriguo didn't die in CVX ?It might sound stupid, but i think it would have been interesting to have an ex-Umbrella employee to join the team and fight against
virus. RIP rodriguo.

We cant really count Rodrigo as an Umbrella Employee. 
I cant think of one who was on the side with Umbrella and their ideology and then switched sides. All Umbrella people were crazy more or less.

Yeah i thought about rodrigo more than carlos as a person from umbrella, but also because i would have my fun to see a rodrigo in the recent re talking about some mistakes in his life and talk about the redfield. Oh this sound totally like a fan service

Rodrigo didn't even join Umbrella with his free will, he really had no choice but to do so, since Umbrella took over the island he was a native of (Rockford Island). He didn't share any of Umbrella's ideology or knowledge and was only a simple prison guard.

that's where i did a mistake, because in the books they said Rodrigo was the guy who arrested Claire at Umb Headquarters

He did arrest her but he wasn't really a bad guy, he was just doing his job. I mean you can see it in the game itself, he lets you out, later gives you a lock pick and etc.
He is one of those good guy umbrella employees, who is also there more because of circumstances and not because he likes it.
