The other day, I was asked by if I did dynamic poses, or if I was just stuck with doing character models. The answer is this: usually I stick with simple poses, but I can make a dynamic model if I want. This is Sal performing a combat slide.This picture was pretty interactive, and what I mean by that is that I used myself as a model when I posed doing the slide. I even tried one out (damn by butt hurt after that though. All in the name of art!).
I really tried to get the feel of a slide going, especially with the motion lines and the sparks coming from her boots. Getting the muzzle flash was also a great way to create some dynamic shadows and add some mood to the picture.
Now, I can tell you that the slide is a method of moving from cover to cover and I don't recommend it out in the open. Now, she's sliding on one of those metal plates that have the criss-crossing bumps on it. So her ass will probably hurt too after that!
Actually, the funny thing is, diamond plate is designed specifically to PREVENT sliding! So her ass WILL be feeling sore after this little maneuver! Oh well, let her have her fun.

Much like the combat slide in FEAR 3, except everyone in that game seemed to have an Achilles shin considering it almost always killed them instantly XD

That's a very good picture! Shading is excellent on everything except the face, and it's especially good on the hair. Also, now I finally know what diamond plate is designed for! Previously, the only thing I knew was that it hurt to walk on it with bare feet.

Yes, so I've been spoilered already.
And that is exactly why I want to keep things going the way they are! This way, only I can choose when characters get offed!

if I was sliding around on this ground... strach that. I'd be the guy towards the rest with an MMG putting down suppressing fire. I'd be making people slide, not the other way around.
