Description From the inside, the little church at Ording, North Friesland, looks and feels like an overturned boat. The ceiling is lovingly decorated and the altar is a little masterpiece.

Probably. The people and the landscape there are shaped by the sea. I think they have used the technique they knew from boat building to construct the ceiling. It resembles a shallow boat and could well symbolise the ark or the boats these people used and that kept them safe on the sea.
