During the Great Sol War of the 2140's Mars along with Venus, Titan, and Europa declared independence from Earth and deployed fleets of warships they had been building in secret, Earth Caught off guard moved to quell these rebellions, as time went on Mars was looking like they wanted to remain buddies with Earth after gaining independence. Enraged that the First Colony was appearing to lose faith, Venus nuked the capital city of Arcadia, causing the city's massive Fusion reactor to lose containment ejecting most of the Arcadia Plains into orbit. Due to this attack Mars and Titan renounced their alliance with Venus and helped Earth defeat them. In the wake of the war the Sol system was declared an Absolute Demilitarized Zone leaving the remaining colonies to spread outward into the stars.
