Taken in Spain, back in 2008. This was a particularly remote area of Asturias, only accessible by windy mountain roads and steep drops of hundreds of feet. The town itself had retained much of its old tradition, and there was little sign of modernisation at all. Even though it was the height of summer, we saw only one other English speaking family, who we ended up climbing this route with.In short, it was a far cry from anything I had experienced before then, in Spain or anywhere else in Europe.

How beautiful!
Everything looks so soft and almost mythical. And it definitely has an Old World feel to it. I'm looking for the horse and cart to come down that road.

It was one of the more scenic places i've been to. It's a shame that when people think of spain as a holiday location, all they think of is burning hot holiday resorts filled with drunk Brits, when actually it's got so much more to offer.
