As before, another piece with smaller scale. Man this one was hard to paint, since the sketch had just awful composition. So most time was just moving things around untill it looked decent. Also I tried to stylize this as one of those anime backgrounds, fun stuff. The big upside of working for l5r was I could jump around from this anime-ish style to full matte paintings and AD didn't care

this piece just makes me want go there and sit on the edge under the roof. the peacefulness and quietness really come trough this image. I'm also very impressed with the way the dust blows true the square and how you visualised that

The trees are so realistic, and you have some blurred grass in front of the whole thing. You can tell that it's not a photo only because of the clouds and the building.Β

I like the fact that it is not so digitally perfect. Not so Sharp lines and edges. The little dots (meant as leaves?) are a nice detail. Great colours and very fine atmosphere. Great work
