I got inspired by Mermay, so I figured I'd take a shot at it myself.

Monofins aren't a new concept; freedivers use them regularly, but I did have the idea of adding a second pair of fins that beat side-to-side, similar to a seal, or fish. I figured this would give her better propulsive power in the water. The divesuit itself admittedly is more aesthetic really, being impractical once you'd get back on the surface. Still, I liked the idea of something more sleek than her legs being simply tied together.

The 'dreadlocks' that I put on her helmet are part of her life support package, helping to synthesize oxygen from the surrounding water. It's still nowhere near enough for water breathing even with the tech however; the amount of oxygen that is contained in water is still small to sustain a person. So this is more of a complement than artificial gills. The 'sail' sort of fin I put on her back, is more of an aesthetic choice as well.

Getting the color down took friggen' forever though. Glad I got that part over with. All in all, I'm happy with the end results here.
