New fandom my dudes!So, my friend suggested me this series and I totally fell in love with it!
At first I didn't know if I was going to like it, when I watched the trailers I thought that it wasn't my style and was unsure about it, but then I started the first season and couldn't take my eyes of it! It's just really amazing and I'm totally addicted!
It's been, like, a little more than one month since I watched the for the first time but I've already watched all the 5 seasons 3 times (counting all the extras), listened to the whole soundtrack (that's is absolutely fantastic btw), read years worth of fanfiction and a ton of theories. It looks like a really nice fandom!
About the drawing, It looks like I'm finally being able to draw people and I'm so happy at how it came out! I even set this as my wallpaper cuz I'm so proud of it! (And if you want to use it as your wallpaper too, go ahead, I'll be honored XD)

That is what I mentioned. Monty Oum( may he rest in peace ) made this whole series. And it is pretty kcik ass. With the characters shown being plucked from either classic fairy tails or mythological stories or even history. Some are rather easy to spot. Others you gotta look up.

No problem. But if you are looking for other Rooster Teeth animations. There is Nomad of Nowhere. It is brand spanking new and has 4 episodes out now. You could even be the first to make DA icons out of them

Yeah...I lost the program that I make my gif's with when my computer crashed... And now when I try to download again it fills it with virus... I have to find another way to make them...

I'm aware, the friend that introduced me to the show filled me with a bunch of facts about Monty (she's a huuuuge fan of him after watching RWBY XD) and about the series! And all this references to characters from history, fairy tales and mythology (especially
mythology I LOVE MYTHOLOGY! ) is one of my favorite things about the series!

How far are you in the series? There is 5 vol. out now.
Yeah each one of the cast is apart of a mythology or fairy tail of some sorts. Some are easy to single out Ruby( Red Ridding Hood duh ) Wiess( Snow White ) Yang( Goldie Locks ) Ozpin( The Wizard from The Wizard of Oz ) John-de-Arc( Joanna of Arc ). Then there are the ones you would have to look up. Like Ren is actually based on Mulan( for real ). Blake is Bell from Beauty and the Beast. Despite not looking at all like her counter part. Mercury I have no idea? Emerald is possibly Aladin or someone from A Tail of 2 Cities? Cinder might be The Red Quenn but

I've already watched everything... four times already, maybe? I actually lost count at how many times I watched season one because I really like it and it's short enought to watch it like a movie.
Mercury is based in the god Hermes/Mercury (the first is the greek name, the second is the roman one, they are basically the same). I read somewhere about Emerald but I can't remember right now, I know it's not Alladin. Cinder is based on Cinderela.
I know a few more! Like Pyrrah is based on Aquiles; Nora, Thor; Sun, the Monkey King; Glynda, the good witch from Wizard of Oz, and Oscar is Dorothy. Ozpin is also based in the norse god Odin, making Qrow and Raven a reference to the two birds Odin owns. Neo is based on neapolitan ice cream... I probably know more but can't remenber right now...
I think in the RWBY wiki you'll probably find about the other characters... but I wish there was a list with all of the refences in the same place...
