It will void warranty. As long as you don't brick your phone you can always re flash the stock ROM and recovery console and then OEM lock it again. A lot of phone techs won't notice even if you don't change back the recovery system or if you were using a custom kernel. But yes, warranty is voided (if they notice).

I haven't even heard of anyone changing their boot animation on their phone but I know cyanogenmod does have its own if you ever use that ROM. The xda-developers website has a lot of useful information, mods and help. So really be careful before changing it. All it was was a simple .zip on my phone so I'd imagine it can be replaced with whatever you want.

Okay, so the rundown is: I had no boot animation for some reason on my phone, so I decided to look at tutorials for modding phones. it's kinda odd, but yeah.
