Description This is a painting I had done for my new draw this in your style challenge, on instagram. This traditional-type painting in particular depicts a young adult female yaetuan from one of the extrasolar colonies. Specifically, this female is not from the homeworld but instead from the nearby colony Pepati, which was first established more than 2,800 years ago. This female's ancestors were sent to the world thousands of years ago in the exodus, and she personally has no real relation to the homeworld nor its people. Generations of past have been born, lived and died on Pepati, and while this woman has plans of touring the homeworld some day she's loved her colony as much as anyone else would their motherland.
.
As a result of microevolution across numerous generations, her skin has lightened from the cyan color of the mainland genome to a more baby blue (and pale green in some other pepatians), and her hair is a heavenly off-white as opposed to the normally shiny dark blue of many of the yaetuans you've seen thus far. She is shown in formal traditional clothing, called a Tevanga, with beak paint and shawls, depicted in a traditional pigment painting. While her ancestors long ago used beak paint to protect from the comparatively harsher sun, now it is purely decoration for females and males in select occasions.
