Key to the East
Ch.2
Blood Moon Rising

As BJ rode through the forest towards the Counts castle of horror, he knew he was being followed but by what was a different story. He felt it deep inside his gut and it made the hairs on the back of his neck stand up and takes notice of the situation. “Whoa boy!” as the horse came to a halt, BJ thought back he had been in some dangerous situations before, but nothing like this, thieves no problem, serial killers no problem, werewolves and vampires BIG problem. His mind raced over the plan in his head, thinking all the while that if he got in danger he was suppose to look at the moon. What it meant still bothered him his father had been so cryptic of the red moon why tell him to look at it after all these years. With a second of hesitation BJ looked at the moon through the clouds waiting for something to happened, nothing did though. “Huh? BJ said almost relieved, but from the brush came a voice dark and cryptic “Beautiful moon isn’t it my friend?” Out of the shadow of the forest stepped a very large African American man wearing a large black trench coat and black pants and shirt, muscles bulging and face full of evil intentions. “Who are you ugly?” BJ asked. “My name is Hakim Abdullah-Muhammad” he responded “and you re trespassing.” “Well I ve seem to have misplaced my wedding invitation, after all that’s what you re here for… to welcome the wedding guests.” With these words BJ pulled out Shadow the gun that held the werewolf ammo and fire two shots and Hakim, without any effort Hakim simply moved to the side and avoided both shots as if they were slower than he was. “Crap!” BJ exclaimed “How did you avoid those shots you son of gun?” “You re going to have to do better than that my boy, after all that is what you are…. a boy.” Hakim said with a smile so evil it would have given the devil a chill. “Ushers why don’t you come out and give our guest a seat to sit in.” Out of the shadow came two more men dressed in shirts and jeans, one a young man who looked no older than BJ and the other about the age of Hakim. “I say we kill him now Hakim he has a dangerous look about him.” responded the older man, “No Goya we have our orders.” Hakim yelled, “Boy I m giving you a chance to live, the master has invited you to join us, he admires your bravery coming to this place. Or we can kill you now your option.” BJ sat on the back of the horse deep in thought for a moment and responded with a couple of shots from the gun to Hakims two henchmen, turning the horse towards the castle in the distance he took off. “Sorry Hakim but I was always one for crashing wedding, not attending ‘em.” But in his thoughts he knew it wasn’t going to be easy and he was right. Both the men he shot got up and in a rush of anger tore their shirts off, when this happened they began to transform hair came up every where, knee joints reversed, muscles grew, fangs came out with claws, faces grew longer and more canine, tails grew; these were three of the Count’s werewolf servants. After the creatures had transformed they took off like a shot after BJ ready to kill him. BJ heard the noise coming and almost like instinct took out three silver throwing daggers and tossed them into the night catching one of the creatures leaving the other two to catch up. This left him with the middle one which he guessed from his immense size was Hakim and the other one, from his leanness, the one that was his age. “Alright horse I d have to say it’s about time we parted company.” As he kept the two werewolves off of his tail with the occasional gun fire barrage, he approached the castle ready to implement his plan B, “That will work.” BJ dipped down while riding and grabbed a stick of fair size and density, and just as he had hoped there was the castle gate with a bar just high enough to grab if he stood up on the back of the horse. As he prepared to stand up he realized that both the beasts were right behind him, so he turned around one more time and laid down some fire to cover himself, with that he reached up and grabbed the beam, swinging high on it and releasing at its peak he soared over the draw bridge leading to the castle. On the third rotation he threw the stick hitting the lock on the reel that held the chains to the draw bridge forcing the bridge to draw up. On his way down he noticed the littler werewolf had leaped up to get him and in a spur the moment move shot him in the head while upside down killing him instantly. With the drawbridge almost vertical BJ prepared to land and slide down the bridge to the front entrance, after finally landing in the castle a small amount of relief passed over him to say the least. Of course in this nightmare come true that didn’t last long, out of the shadow a small green creature attacked. “YAAAAAAAAAH!” And with almost animalistic reflexes BJ grabbed the creature and pinned him to the wall by stabbing him in the shoulders with two of his silver daggers. “Now I don’t know what you are but if you are a living creature I m pretty sure that this must hurt like hell I can end your suffering if you tell me were the ceremony is being held at.” “Talk damn you!” BJ screamed. “Alright I ll talk, the ceremony is being held in the eastern tower, top floor.” The little creature exclaimed in a raspy voice. “Why there of all places?” The creature turned its head in hesitation. BJ stabbed the implements in further. “Now talk or I ll cut your throat you little son of a bitch!” “Alright, alright the tower is used for the wedding because it is the best position to get a large amount of light from the red moon.” So what does that have to do with anything?” the creature explained “It is said that when a vampire infects someone it is best to do it in red moon light because the transformation is instant.” Damn!” BJ exclaimed. “But you will never make it; it is guarded by werewolves and by most importantly the king of werewolves Kevin Gaiosis. He serves my master and all werewolves serve him, you will never defeat him period.” the creature said with an almost sinister smile on his face. But BJ turned an equally sinister look back. “Now that isn’t something you are going to have to worry about now is it.” With those words BJ took out his sword and sliced at a forty-five degree angle cutting the little creatures head in two. “I said I would end your suffering didn’t I. But these words and actions surprised BJ he had never acted this way before in the heat of combat, why did he do that could it have something to do with the red moon? Well for now that didn’t matter all that mattered was that at the top of those stairs a waited an evil so unholy that he dare not go in unprepared. Mean while at the top of the east tower sat an ancient and very handsome figure it was count Diego awaiting the moment to have a new bride. He had been watching everything from the tower on a mirror that allowed him to see everything. “Such a shame, he was a good butler too. So my dear it would seem your friend has come to the castle not as a guest but as a conqueror, I must say he is very foolish to think he can kill me.” Brittney was chained to a pillar in the middle of the room looking at the count with anger and hatred. “He will kill you, you can count on that Count.” she said feisty. “I like you.” he said. “You will make an excellent bride.” Diego waved his hand in front of the mirror bringing up an image of a large long hair man with proportionally large muscles. “Kevin I want you to let the boy come to me I will deal with him in my own manner.” Diego says sinisterly. “Now watch dear as I lure him to his doom.”
