Description
Bought a Pentel brush pen and practiced inking a bit.Great tool.
Tried to ink fast and keep it loose.
I'm not completely satisfied with the result, but anyway, thats why I'm practicing, right?

Another, really nitpicky detail: In the inked version, it seems the bell guard is 90 degrees offset, protecting the back of the hand. Most swords have the bell guard curving around on the same side as the blade edge, which protects the fingers as they wrap around the blade side of the handle.

Although I'm too poor to officially critique, I'll make a critique in a comment.
I see where the changes occurred between pencils and inks:
1) hair: pencils side, the guy has two little pointy tufts on top like horns, and one mad wave of hair from the top back. Inks side: more tuft points, but no longer hornlike. Hair has more striations, putting more emphasis on texture and less on the mad wave of hair.
2) Face: eyebrows went from angry lines shrouding the eyes to more inquisitive swoops making the eyes more open. Cheekbone line from eye not as tight to the eyes on the inks side, less intense energy.
3) Right shoulder (of character): the concave shadow lines of the inkside feel flatter (convex shadow lines instead?), padded squared edge became a sharper, flatter point.
4) Flaps: making them black panels on top of the jacket makes the less prominent to me.
5) Jacket and pants outlines: would have liked white line edging on backside of right arm and upper side of left leg to make them have more volume, also white edge to pants would separate pants from left sleeve.
6) Jacket tail: not certain why all white... looks unfinished to me.
7) Shirt: missing some of the dynamic fold/crease lines in pencil.
8) Groin folds: the scalloped fold lines across the groin in the pencils, which join nicely with the sword belt, now angled folds the mimic the angle of the sword belt. More emphasis on left hip in inks because of highlights.
9) Subtle changes to angle of brass cover for scabbard and left boot heel take away a bit from energy of pose. Penciled brass cover in line with folds around char's right knee, pencil left heel shoots straight up from ground to knee. Inked lines reverse those, soften energy.
10) A little too much highlighting on shoes, almost patent leather shoes
I'm picking nits, because you did very well overall! Far better than I could do. Lots of nice deep blacks and spiderweb lines.
A tip: try shading quickly with pencils to get blocks and lines nailed down, and then give inkwork another go.

I think you're right with your points. But thats why I'm practicing.
And I don't tighten the pencils on purpose. I want to keep it loose, find the strokes during the inking. It fastens the workflow and makes it more interesting - so it will always look different from the pencils. But sure, I hope it will look better though if I do it more often.

You've got the right attitude! It's really hard to capture the same energy and feel of the pencils in the inked version, having tried in limited ways myself. The inked version becomes a different creature, and you have to consider it on its own merits. But when I royally screw up, I do what I did above: compare my inked version to the pencils, find out where things changed, and decide whether I like the changes or not, so I can keep those points in mind when I try again.

And yeah - inking is really unforgiving. Thats part of why I'm doing it - I'm really "mind-driven" and accurate when it comes to drawing, so I use this to loosen up a bit.
