The lighting over the cross is good, it highlights it well.
The more I think about it, the more I feel that the idea of 'saving lives' were interconnected so much more on that day.

Good photograph. I have to admit that I sometimes feel a little uncomfortable trying to reconcile patriotism with being a Christian. Perhaps it's something to do with being a Briton and so having a government which is less agreeable with.
I'm not sure of the answer really - I don't have a problem giving to Caesar what is Caesar's, but as the writer to the Hebrews said of the OT patriarchs:
"These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of them, embraced them and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. For those who say such things declare plainly that they seek a homeland. And truly if they had called to mind that country from which they had come out, they would have had opportunity to return. But now they desire a better, that is, a heavenly country. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them."
Not criticism as such, I'm interested in how Americans in particular and people in general reconcile the Christian hope of heavenly citizenship with earthly nationality.
