Noah as Aand was a good choice, because if you look at Aan and Noah they resemble each other a-lot, Nicola as Katara was an original choice to be honest she looks more like Fire Nation Arc Katara than Water Tribe Katara, Jackson Rathbone um..........Yeah I suppose why not. But Dev as Zuko........O.O..............-.-.............O.O.........................-.-...........................O.O............WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS SHIT, ZUKO LOOKS NOTHING LIKE THAT HE HAD A BALD HEAD WITH A PONY TAIL AT THE BEGINNING, AND HE LOOKS TALLER WHICH IS RIDICULOUS BECAUSE ZUKO IS 5.1/2 INCHES TALLER THAN AANG, AND HIS SCAR ENVELOPS HIS LEFT EYE STRETCHING TO HIS EAR MAKING HIM SQUINT.

I still don't like the cast. And the execution. And this stupid director!

Not being racist or anything but in the series, Zuko is a lot more pale... And you can't see his scar D: I personally think the rest of the cast is quite alright though.

As long as he can pull off the fell of Zuko's character well, I'm not holding any prejudices against Dev for his skin colour.
Also, some artistic liberties could be taken with the scar. It had to be toned down rather a bit to seem more realistic; you just can't get burns like cartoon!Zuko's while still having vision in that eye. Also, it doesn't have to be horrifyingly grotesque to evoke sympathy in the audience. Seeing the scar they put on live action!Zuko still gives the sense that he isn't the ordinary villain, just as the scar on cartoon!Zuko did in S1.

Yeah, even if the actors don't look like the characters too much, as long as they can act good, it'll be fine.

Wow, the person that's supposed to be Chinese has dark skin, and the Inuits are pale as ghosts. Great casting, Shamalan, great job T.T

Erm... Zuko had almost white skin, and Aang looks like he's crying. I don't like actors at all.

I'm not sure why everyone needs the characters to LOOK exactly like in the show. As long as they act the same and have the same personalities, they are essentially the same characters (i.e. the same people). Yes, appearance does factor into audience perception, but on that note, wouldn't someone rather see something new than just see the cartoon acted out again in a really rushed 2 hours? People are really closing their minds in a way that I can't understand when it comes to this movie.

I completely agree with you. Did I give off that I think otherwise in the artist's comments I wrote way back when (a couple months ago...)? *wanders off to actually look at the stuff she wrote*

No, I phrased that poorly. I said 'you' when I was just asking the questions rhetorically, I didn't mean to actually direct them at you, sorry!

On that note Zuko's scar could be a little more prominent, Sokka and Katara could be a little more tan because it is kind of strange to see kids so white in Inuit clothing, but only in a weird cross-culture way.

I LOL'd when I saw the title, because that's EXACTLY what these pics remind me of.
And, am I the only one who is THRILLED with how young Nicola looks? I mean, she IS fourteen and I expect her to look it. (At least, that's the way I looked when I was fourteen. I didn't start to "fill out" until the middle of tenth grade.) Personally, I never thought she looked that old in the series to begin with, not until Season 3 and by that time Aang was looking older too.
Then again, I'm a Kataanger, so I might be biased in that regard. Either way, yay TLA cast, even if they do looked like their being booked, lol.

I'm quite pleased as well as you that Nicola looks much younger. It makes Kataang much more believable.

I think that they should stick with the original more, eventhough I adore Jackson they should make the actors more like the original characters. I just look from the original prespective, but I do like it so far !

Also, Nicola is 5'0". Isn't Jackson, like, a foot taller than her? He's 24, right? That's almost a 10 year age difference, while in the show the age difference is a year or two...
I'm not taking a side quite yet, it could turn for the better and pleasantly surprise those of us who are less than supportive of this, or it could turn for the worse. Who knows?

I think you have to go see the film for what it is, and like a new plot, you know. Don't expect it to be as the serie. I just saw the trailer, it looks great and spectacular.
