Description Well, as many of you know, I live in the Chicago area. I woke about 2.5 feet of snow EVERYWHERE.... but snow drifts 4-6 feet tall all over the place. including in front of the door, on top of my car, and all over.

this blizzard has been the worst we've seen since '76 - way before my time.

photo completely unedited. Just something to mark my survival of the great chicago blizzard of 2011.

How badly did the rest of you americans get hit?

Just looking at this pic reminds me how cold I am.

The weathermen say there is going to be bad weather all over the U.S.

Well, they were wrong. Washington is seeing nothing but sunny weather. I find it very annoying, because I'd rather have rain or snow.

There's no way my tiny little home town of Lake Stevens is ever going to be snowed in like that. We're lucky to see snow once a year. That's the reason my brother-in-law moved here from Maine. (it snowed a few weeks after he moved here )

haha, i know, we've barely got any snow. I was expecting a white christmas, or a bit of snow, but I think at most I got around 3-4 inches. and I'm living pretty close to the mountains, but it's been chilly in arlington.

Yeah, and now there's a storm brewing around the puget sound. I can hear the raindrops denting my roof.

We only got about ten inches out in the midwest where I am. It's not that bad, but there is a lot of ice to make up for it. School's been out all week; it's awesome.

I live in Indianapolis and we got around 2" of ice over the last few days and maybe a half inch of snow. Yesterday my car had about 1/2" of ice all over and two inches at the base of the windshields. I cleaned it off. Today there were THREE inches of ice at the base of the windshields, and four inches of really slick ice on my steps. The cars were not so bad-- luckily we put blankets over the windshields so once we pulled them off it was fine. The steps I had to literally chisel the ice off.

I'm probably still not going to be able to drive out of the alley behind my house until Friday.

I live in the DFW metro of Texas, and it's ugly here! A few days ago, it was so nice, warm and pretty. Now there's literally ice EVERYWHERE!! I've already been out of school for 3 days now, and I'm very bored at home.

Oh, well, since you KNOW I live about 1000 miles away from you, you know my weather is warm and pleasant.

Oooooooooor I'm trapped in my house thanks to all the snowfall.. >.>;;

... made my brother snowblow it. bwahahaha.

Yeah, this is pretty much what it looks like here too... we have a icicle on our roof that's literally about 4 feet long! It's a little bit scary.... We also lost power for most of the day yesterday... not much fun in 0 degree weather!

Me too!! You are SO lucky...

Is it still snowing there, or was that just from drifting? I'd have gone out to play... but it just sounded too darn cold!!

Nom, the snow finally slowed down, but it has been blowing around like MAD! I think we managed somewhere around 20-24 inches total, but there are drifts taller than me!

my house in in a little valley thing, so everyone else's snow blew into our yard... 3 feet of snow across the driveway! wahh!

Wow... i don't think we had anywhere NEAR that much snow.... There has been a lot of drifting, though.

Yuck! I hope you weren't intending to go anywhere anytime soon...
