Least favorite music, why?  Emo, again, it grates on his generally happy outlook.

Literature: (going off of modern lit they would like) Marvel and DC comics would probably be his cup of tea.

Expressions: Doesn't really have any

Expletives (curse): (he has a lot of them) ‘your mother was a whore’ ‘Damn horse thieving son of peasant’ ‘May your children be ugly.’ ‘I hope that poncy son of a swine gets a giant boil on his nose.’  Also uses the average, garden verity expletives

Mode of transport: Horse, boat, wagon

Hobbies: Bashing the heads of his enemies, drinking, teasing Lyon, day dreaming about Lady Miriam...

How do they spend a rainy day? Talking, mostly talking.

Personality:

Are they a daredevil or cautious? He’s quite the risk taker for a blind man

Do they act the same alone as when with someone? He tends to be quieter when he’s alone, just because he doesn’t have anybody to talk to. He isn’t much for introspection, if that’s what you mean.

Habits: pulls at the cloth around his eyes, drinks, swears,

Drinks: yes

How much:  a lot

Greatest Strength:  His happy go lucky nature

Greatest Weakness:  spelling

Soft spot: small fuzzy animals (except rodents, he like puppies, bunnies, kitties, and other animals of the like)

Is their soft spot obvious, why/why not:  Not really.

If not, how do they hide it: He doesn’t really hide it, He just not the kind of person who someone would automatically peg for being a lover of small fuzzy creatures.

Biggest Vulnerability: Blindness

Background:

Hometown:  Frell

Type of childhood: He had a good childhood with loving parents and a warm home.

First Memory:  It’s more of a vague blur, but he knows that he was sitting on the bank of a stream, he was with his father, and he thinks they were fishing.

Most important child hood event that still effects him/her:  There was one year where famine struck his homeland, his father was a very generous master, and helped the peasants through. That isn’t the moment thought. The moment was when he was visiting a friend in a neighboring duchy, and actually saw starvation for the first time while his friend’s father did nothing.

Why? Lycinius decided that he would help all those in need, as well as respect his fellow man (even though he does use peasant as an insult).

Education: formal tutoring in math, reading, writing, astronomy, and philosophy. Has a decent grasp of math, slept through reading and writing, took astronomy as a chance to day dream, and spent most of philosophy just looking confused.

Religion: claims to be Malin, the main monotheistic religion of the land, but is much more of an atheist than anything else

Finances: reasonably well to do.

Family:

Mother: Lady Daphnia

Relationship with her: He loved his mother very much, and was a faithful and doting son.

Father: Lord Verminous (the family tradition is for the males to all have the suffix ‘us’ in their name, Lycinius’s grandfather was short on ideas.)

Relationship with him: His father was his idol

Siblings, how many, relationship with each: none

Children of siblings:

Other extended family:  Mostly dead with a few distant cousins smattered about the kingdoms.

Close? Why or why not: no, he hasn’t ever met any of them

Attitude:

Most at ease when: spending time with Lyon, or anyone else he trusts.

Most ill at ease when: alone, being alone has always made him nervous, but more so now that he’s blind.

Priorities: Be happy.

Philosophies: don’t worry; be happy; that which doesn’t kill me had better run pretty damn fast.

How they feel about themselves: Overall, he likes himself pretty well.

Past failure they would be embarrassed to admit: It’s more of an ongoing feeling of failure, and that is having to relearn to fight.

Why? He always prided himself on his fighting ability and to have to basically relearn everything is very painful for him even though he puts on a brave face.

If granted one wish what would it be, why? He would want his sight back. He misses being able to see the faces of those he cares about, as well as not needing a walking stick to navigate on foot.

Traits:

Optimist or pessimist? Why?  He is optimistic, because he has faith in the world and its people

Introvert or extrovert? Why? He is an extrovert, because reaching out to people helps him fight the feeling that he’s alone.

Drives and motives:  Loyalty to Lyon, his sense of justice, his fondness for a challenge, his love for Lady Miriam, his hatred of being alone.

Talents: Singing, actually, as well as being good with animals and small children. He also can be a smooth talker when he chooses.

Extremely skilled at: Combat

Extremely unskilled at: Combat while blind

Good characteristics: Loyal, brave, kind, gentle (last two disappear around enemies.)

Character flaws: Stubborn, perverted, vengeful, petty, lack of formal knowledge in things other than fighting

Mannerisms: When he’s wearing a cloth over his eyes, he tends to pull at it, He runs his hand through his hair when he’s hit a brain block, and he talks with his hands.

Peculiarities: He has a superstition about mornings, if he doesn’t bend backwards as far as he can, bend forward, and pops his neck as soon as he wakes; he spends the rest of the day thinking that something bad is going to happen.

Biggest regret: He always says that his biggest regret is having never seen Lyon in a dress, but his true regret is not getting to his father’s bed-side to tell his dad that he loved him and to say goodbye.

Minor regrets: Usual things, should have kissed this girl, should have punched that guy, that sort of thing.

Biggest accomplishment: Becoming a knight

Minor accomplishments: every time he made his father proud, befriending the reclusive Lyon, things like that.

Darkest secret: Before he was friends with Lyon, he was paid by a servant of her uncle to keep an eye on the mysterious boy. Once he and Lyon were close enough that she trusted him with her secret, he stopped working for the servant of her uncle.

Does anyone know? No, he has meant to tell her, but every time he tries the idea that she might abandon him makes him panic. He is waiting until he thinks that he has made up for his betrayal in service to her.

How did they find out:

Self-perception:

One word they would use to describe themselves: Happy

One paragraph of how they would describe themselves:  Lycinius considers himself to be a loyal person; he is willing to give everything for those who are important to him. He doesn’t see himself and any more kind and giving than any other person; he knows that Lyon would argue that point with him. He is also stubborn as well as proud, which can make him difficult to work with.

What do they consider their best physical characteristic and why: He liked his torso best, when he could see. He always got a lot of complements from various ladies he met about how strong he looked, and a lot of them touched his chest while giving the complement

The worst one? Why? He always disliked his eyebrows; he always said they were thin and unmanly (Lyon found this out when she was telling him all the things she didn’t like about herself, she was sixteen. “…and I have ugly feet.” “Ugly feet, huh? My eyebrows are thin.” “What does that have to do with anything?” “You were talking about the things about you that you don’t like, I don’t like my eyebrows.” “hahahahahahaha, You dodo.” “I’m not a dodo… what’s a dodo?”).

Are they realistic assessments? Well, he does have a very nice torso; and his eyebrows aren’t the ‘oh look, I stuck two caterpillars to my brow bones.’ That he would like to have, but there isn’t really anything inherently wrong with them. Since best and worst are matters of opinion, I would say that he’s realistic in this assessment.

If not, why not?

How they think others see them: Before being blinded, he thought others saw him as a ladies man, and a really cool guy. Now that he’s blind, he feels like people dismiss him for his disability.

What four things would they most like to change about themselves: 1. Being blind, 2. His literacy 3. His hatred of being alone 4. Not being brave enough to tell Lady Miriam how he felt

Why? 1. He would like to change because he is having difficulty getting on with out his sight. 2. He regrets not reading a lot when he was able to see. 3. He hates that he feels so dependent on other people. 4. He only realized his feelings for Miriam after he was blind, and now there is a voice in the back of his head that says that he isn’t good enough for her.

If they were changed would they be the same person, why/why not: He wouldn’t be the same person if those factors were changed, because it would change at least one of his driving forces, as well as his outlook on life.

Would changing of number 1 make them more happy? Why/why not: He would be happier with his sight restored, because then he could fight the way that he used to, he wouldn’t feel less of a man around Miriam, and other factors as well.

Interaction with other people:

How do they relate to others: by being open and amiable, as well as technically being a part of a religion

How are they perceived by strangers: friendly, happy, loud, and occasionally ominous

Friends: Lycinius’ friends all see him as a good guy, a loyal friend, but someone you would definitely not want to make an enemy of.

Wife/husband/lover: At this point, Lady Miriam sees him as sweet and gentle, but she isn’t technically his lover, and they don’t know each other very well.

The Hero/Heroin: Lyon sees him as her best friend. He is very much her hero, she probably wouldn’t admit this. She doesn’t understand how someone who has had so much go wrong can be so happy.

How do they view the Hero/Heroine: Lycinius sees Lyon as a sister to him, he is very protective of her and teases her mercilessly whenever he can. He looks to her when things get bad, but he still gives suggestions and lets her lean on him when she needs to.

First impression of the char: (I’m going to assume you mean the first impressions of character in question to the hero.) When Lyon first saw Lycinius, it was her first day of knight training and he was sparring with another individual, he was winning. She immediately wanted to be like him.

why?  She saw strength and power in every move, and she knew that was what she was going to need if she was going to make her uncle pay for his treachery.

What happens to change this perception:  As she got to know him, she learned that he was loud, not overly bright, and a pervert; all traits that made her uncomfortable around him. That feeling lasted until the other novices her age ganged up on her during a fight; Lycinius broke up the fight and started paying close attention to her and her progress as a knight.

What do people like most about this char: Most people like the fact that Lycinius is a very open person, there are very few things that he hides (which makes him a good foil to Lyon). He’s also fun to be around.

What do they dislike most about them: He doesn’t take things seriously some times, which can grate on the nerves of most people; he also is a pervert on occasion, so that can cause people to feel uncomfortable around him, even though he never takes it too far.

Goals:

Immediate: Don’t get killed, don’t let Lyon get killed

Long term: Convince Lady Miriam to fall in love with him as well as help Lyon get revenge

How do they plan to accomplish them: Well, first he plans to get his sight back by having a magician in Draum who is supposed to be skilled in that kind of thing, this is supposed to help in both goals. With his sight back, he will be better able to help Lyon off her uncle. Also, once he is no longer blind, he will feel like he is worthy of Lady Miriam.

How will others be effected by this: Well, The regaining sight thing is actually going to cause a great deal of trouble for Lyon as well as himself. And the Miriam thing is kind of a sore point for Lyon, because (again she won’t admit this) but she is at very least jealous when it comes to Lycinius’ attention.

Problems/Crisis:

How do they react in a crisis: Both this question and the one below can be summed up in one word, ‘ATTACK’

How do they face problems:

Kind of problems they usually run into: being blind makes it hard to fight, especially if there is a lot of commotion, so he occasionally injures himself on stupid things. The same thing goes for when he’s talking to someone, he’s mistaken women for men and vise-versa.

How they react to new problems: Attack

How they react to change: depends on the kind of change, some changes he doesn’t handle well at all, others, he deals with very well.

General:

Favorite clothing, why: Well-fitting tunic and pants, with boots that have just been broken in enough that they are comfortable without being shapeless. Who doesn’t like comfy clothes?

Least favorite, why: Formal armor, because it stinks, creaks, clanks, it’s stiff, and heavy. He also hates formal tunics; he says they want to choke him to death.

Jewelry: He wears a signet ring with the initial K for the Kagan family.

Other accessories: A circular brooch when he is wearing a cloak. The brooch was a gift from his mother, and it has the image of a curled up dragon, which has an eye open, the eye is a small ruby.

Drives:

Where do they live: Well, the Kagan estate is technically home, but he spends far more time on the road than at the estate, so he lives on the road.

Where do they want to live: Kagan Manor, with the Lady Miriam at his side.

Spending habits, why: He is a miser, unless you’re talking about beer, horses, and gifts for friends, then he splurges

What do they do too much of, why: Drinking alcohol, because he is very fussy and delicate when hung-over.

Most prized possession, why: that’s between his signet ring, his father’s sword, and the brooch I mentioned earlier; his ring and sword were both left to Lycinius in his father’s last will and testament. The brooch was given to him for Yentide, it had originally belonged to his grandfather on his mother’s side, and she had passed it on to him when she thought he had reached manhood in both physical and mental terms.

People they secretly admire, why: Lyon is at the top of the list as well as their teacher, Lord Cartridge. He admires Lyon for her strength; he thinks she is incredibly brave to have chosen that path that she did. Lord Cartridge was beloved by all his students, even though he was a hard task-master and accepted nothing less than perfection from his students.

Person they are most influenced by, why: His father had the most influence over him, most of the hard decisions that Lycinius makes are based off of what his father would have done. His father has always been his idol.

Most important person in their life before story starts, why:  That’s between Lyon and Miriam and Lyon is winning

How do they spend the week just before the story starts: Traveling to Roselle, Elsevier with Lyon in an attempt to gather all of the information they can to make it easier for them to garner support for the killing of the king.
