Hurray. Another red headed Tabris with Alistair!!! Looks awesome. I am wondering though why all the female Tabris' are rogues? Am I the only female, red haired, warrior Tabris who romanced Alistair?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ChristiVivar In reply to Dragonavicious [2010-08-27 20:51:23 +0000 UTC]

Well I don't know about anyone else but I chose rogue because I don't like playing warrior, lol. But I guess it really just kinda fits the character. You'd think that a person who grew up in the ghetto would have a more informal training in the martial arts than one who hasn't. You'd need street smarts as well as "book" smarts so to speak.

And I'm all about red-heads. My hair is naturally dark but during the summer it gets a red tint that I like to play up on occasions!

Dragonavicious In reply to ChristiVivar [2010-08-28 07:19:21 +0000 UTC]

Yeah after I posted that I had a discussion with a friend who said something similar (The Couslands and Aeuducans are the warriors with the Brosca and Tabris' being without formal training). I guess I understand but isn't there one other person who made the mistake of making there Tabris a warrior when they first started to play?

And Red heads are the shiz-nit. Congratulations on having red tint in your hair, I am extremely jealous. My look doesn't really work with red hair but if it did I would dye it so fast....

ChristiVivar In reply to Dragonavicious [2010-08-28 07:28:12 +0000 UTC]

Lol! I wish there was more of it, the red in my hair that is! But it just mostly auburn streaks interspersed with dark-reddish brown!

I wouldn't say its a mistake to make a warrior Tabris. I could be said that her mother wasn't from Denerim and maybe somewhere like Riviani* where elves and humans live in harmony together and so she could have had formal training somewhere. I like to think she wasn't from Denerim, hence her behavior from what you can surmise from dialog in the origins, she was a bit of a trouble maker. That could be from because she wasn't used to the environment and not being able to speak her mind where, from where she was from, she could. At least, that's what I'd like to think!

*If Leliana's Song is indeed fact, apparently Adaia was dark-skinned so Riviani would make sense. Or she could be part Dalish. I mean everything you got from her was of Dalish origin after all!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Dragonavicious In reply to ChristiVivar [2010-08-29 21:33:50 +0000 UTC]

whoa. hold on a sec. They talk about Adaia in Leliana's song? I didn't get that DLC so I had no idea. How incredibly awesome.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ChristiVivar In reply to Dragonavicious [2010-08-29 21:38:40 +0000 UTC]

Well, they don't talk about her, there is an NPC in the evil-noble's dungeons named Adaia and she thanks Leiliana for rescuing them and says that she will tell her child about humans like her. So it strongly points that that is the City-Elf's mom and considering what they say after that scene she may or may have not gotten captured by the city guard after her imprisonment and that is where she was killed.

Dragonavicious In reply to ChristiVivar [2010-08-30 16:08:40 +0000 UTC]

Cool Now I want to buy it. How many years before Dragon Age does this take place? (If you know.) I always thought her mom died when Tabris was younger.

Oh one more question, how old do you think F!Tabris is?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ChristiVivar In reply to Dragonavicious [2010-08-30 16:49:25 +0000 UTC]

It never says how many years ago it took place before the beginning of Origins but Leiliana definitely seems quite young, maybe early 20's. She always seemed like she was in her late twenty's to me in game.

Personally I think the City-Elf is between the ages of 17-19, considering they are just getting married and everyone is making a huge deal about it and saying they will finally be considered and adult.

Dragonavicious In reply to ChristiVivar [2010-09-01 14:15:09 +0000 UTC]

Agreed. I was on some forum that was talking about how all the Origin Characters were at least 30! People are crazy. Yeah I am definitely gonna have to get it now. Yeah I always assumed Leliana was like 26 or 27 so I guess that would be about right then.

ChristiVivar In reply to Dragonavicious [2010-09-01 22:32:50 +0000 UTC]

There was a replay by David Gaider that said he was surprised at how old people thought Alistair was and said he'd be between I think 19-21 which makes so much since considering how naive and boyish he is. Just because he looks older doesn't mean he is. And makes him the perfect age for the City-Elf warden IMO.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Dragonavicious In reply to ChristiVivar [2010-09-03 18:17:20 +0000 UTC]

Yeah I always thought Alistair could be no older then 22 since he never actually became a templar and I'm betting that the chantry gets them addicted to lyrium young. I didn't see that David Gaider had said that but I'm glad he cleared it up. So many people thought he was in his thirties, ridiculous. I think alot of people just had a really hard time contemplating that a group of such young soldiers were saving the world. I personally think that's super cool.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ChristiVivar In reply to Dragonavicious [2010-09-04 02:18:12 +0000 UTC]

Well, I know for sure that a lot of people thought he was in his thirties because it apparently still says so in the toolset to reflect the kind of character he was originally conceived to be. David Gaider recently had an interview (its on Bitmob.com) that Alistair was originally supposed to be a veteran Grey Warden who would be totally serious and completely untrusting of you as a new Grey Warden. So he was almost like Loghain (shiver) or a male version of Morrigan (bleh). But even so, he acted too boyish and naive to be anything older than, like you said 22. And since it seem very plausible that the City Elf origin is the youngest, it makes the most sense that they would get along well, that is if the CE-F isn't into pseudo bad boys like Zevran.

Dragonavicious In reply to ChristiVivar [2010-09-06 16:27:56 +0000 UTC]

Ugh I would have hated if Alistair was serious and didn't trust you. It wouldn't have made sense anyway with you leading and not him if he had already been a Warden for like 10 years. It definitely worked out better this way.

How did things end for your character and Alistair in your mind? Did you guys get married or stay with the Grey Wardens.... or are those all things we will find out later in the comic?

ChristiVivar In reply to Dragonavicious [2010-09-06 22:03:01 +0000 UTC]

Me either. I like him just the way he is. Though...the angle of romancing an older guy and breaking down that heart of stone has nice allure to it!

Well, I'll just say, I like bittersweet endings. But it will be more sweet than bitter...kinda...maybe...I dunno, Remy is still evolving as a character, I'll see where she takes it!

ChristiVivar In reply to Dragonavicious [2010-09-07 22:50:29 +0000 UTC]

Dear God, I hope so. Though, I don't see myself attaching myself to the game like I've done Origins. I'd never played a game like that out side of p&p RPG's so for them to give a only one pre-rendered character and not being able to choose anything other than class, it will feel like any other RPG I have ever played to tell you the truth. Though, I'm sure it will be a good game. I most likely won't have any fanart toward it like I do Origins. *shrug*

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Dragonavicious In reply to ChristiVivar [2010-09-08 13:54:42 +0000 UTC]

I agree. The best thing about Origins was that everyone really got to make a totally different character. I mean look at all the fanart and you can see how attatched people became to their PCs. Specifically, All the City Elfers have different concepts of their characters, like many are bitter and hate humans, some are thieves, some Romance Alistair, others romance Zevren, Some say Adaia died when Tabris was young and others when she was much older. Its insane that we were given such creative license over this game.

I don't know if you've played Mass Effect but its kind of similar to what they are doing to Dragon Age, where there is one character everyone plays and you change small things about them. But Mass Effect doesn't have nearly as much Fan Art as DA.

Sorry for the long rant but I really totally agree. I didn't even think I would like Dragon Age at first cause I thought it would be like all the other RPGs but it was so different.... oh well, I guess we will see.

ChristiVivar In reply to Dragonavicious [2010-09-08 17:33:39 +0000 UTC]

Oh don't worry about the rant. Ever since this game came out, I've had more people to talk to, like and and now you, and have done enough ranting on my own!

I haven't played Mass Effect (I own a PS3 and my PC can't run it ATM) but I want to. I hear good things about it but I'm pretty sure I will have the same attitude toward it as I have many other RPGs in the past. Truth be told, Dragon Age is the very first game I have ever been attached to. I've never been this much of a fangirl and any fanart I've created have always been of tv shows or movies and even then, when the story is over, I appreciate their work and move on. Like you said, its most likely because of the all of the creative control they have given to us through the game that has given us such an attachment to out characters. Its so broad and relatable that, even though they wrote the story for the game, I can see, and I'm sure many others like us, that there is even more potential to shape our own story along side the one they have given us. I always wanted to write my own comic book but I lack the focus I have in art that I don't have in story writing so it never gets off. But something like DA, that already exist in one form but has enough room in it's story to expand on is just the thing I need to focus my ideas. And that's one of the reasons I love this game!

I hope DA2 succeeds, because I want them to one day go back to our Warden but even if they don't, I'm fine making up stories just for her and her life after the Blight and leading up to what ever grand finale they may or may not get to.

Dragonavicious In reply to ChristiVivar [2010-09-09 14:52:22 +0000 UTC]

Me, too. At first Iwas upset it wasn't going to be the Warden but then I realized that this way I can create her ending for myself.

Mass Effect is pretty cool but not nearly as much as Dragon Age. I still love that game but never made any fan art for it at all. In fact Dragon Age is the first anything I've been so obsessed with that I made fan art at all! Its the game that got me finally invovled in Deviant Art. But I look forward to the rest of your comic. I've always wanted to make a comic but unfortunately I lack the skill. The way you comic people make those things are amazing.

I've met so many like minded people and made so many friends through this game, it's sad they are going this direction but I think it's for the best, for now anyway. Also thanks, I hope I can get something done, lol. The comic I made wasn't my totally first attempt at making a comic. I've done it before but that was when I lacked a computer, the internet and was still in high school. It was crude but it served as a reminder that I did have the ability some where to make sequential art, just lacked the confidence. I guess all those years of collecting comics has really paid off lol!

Also I'm not watching you. This is a grave mistake that I must rectify! My deepest apologies.

Dragonavicious In reply to ChristiVivar [2010-09-10 14:39:12 +0000 UTC]

Lol, thats okay. My computer that I draw with is broken so I'm not gonna be able to turn out anything good for awhile. Just pencil drawings at the moment.

Sequential art, thats what I was thinking of. Yeah that's super hard for me but one thing I love about Deviant art is that you have an opportunity to learn from so many different talented people. I'm addicted.

Sorry about the computer problems, I know that all too well. And you're right, I'm so addicted to Deviant Art. It's the only social network site I care about AND it predated the likes of Facebook and Myspace and all that is more than just inane chatter about nothing but about connecting and enjoying others artwork and learning from them. It's the best site on all of the interwebs as far as I'm concerned!
