Description Silesauridae is an extinct family (or clade) of Triassic dinosauriforms. It is most commonly considered to be a clade of non-dinosaur dinosauriforms, and the sister group of dinosaurs.
In 1980 an incomplete postcranial skeleton was discovered,
partially articulated, contained in a slab, with portions of bone and impressions in Cerro Quimal,
Antofagasta region. El Bordo Strata, Middle-Upper Triassic.
In 2010, when conducting a review, David Rubilar, head of the Paleontology department, realized that this material had not been studied. The material was released by Rubilar, Alexander Vargas and Rodrigo Otero. According to preliminary information provided by the paleontologist Rubilar, this would be one of the oldest specimens in the world of the silesaurid.
