Hello Christopher: I greatly appreciate how your paintings emote a variety of contradictory and softer sensibilities. Beyond the visual elements (e.g., objects, space, light), there is much movement on the canvas conceptually and emotionally. Rather than your compositions being a list of 'must haves' for a fantasy painting, your compositions demonstrate the painter's courage, wonderment and vulnerability. Fantasy appears to be your genre of choice, but therein you do not appear to be bound by traditional themes. As a viewer, your paintings strike me as play spaces where the eye and mind can linger and explore. Nicely done.

Such kind words. I paint for the pure joy of creating, and as a bonus it helps with my severe depression. Thank you kindly.

atejeda [2015-04-12 04:07:52 +0000 UTC]

do you draw out the image before painting or do you just paint from scratch?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ChristopherPollari In reply to atejeda [2015-04-12 14:26:03 +0000 UTC]

If I'm not sure on the placement of an object, I usually draw it out on tracing paper then move it around the canvas until I decide, then trace it on, but most things I just lightly sketch in with pencil or brush.
