I just HAD TO post something on the first day of 2011 <3and ItΒ΄s Cody when he was a puppy <3 ahh I remember it like it was yesterday. fff they grow up so fast.
I tried to make him look realistic... I also tried realistic fur but that failed so much that I deleted it

Its a nice friendly image so clear that you have braught the character out in a rather shy and pose which may indicate a sense of innocence. it's a siberian husky right? you have kept to the actual animal quite well taking in the facial marks but may i make a suggeestion? I think you have the made the face rather compact, looking at a photograph you can see that the snout needs to be thinner and the eyes smaller... But as a start it is good!
Another note on the anatomy would be that the head looks like it is not attached to the body giving it a rather disjointed feeling, maybe because of the lines? I would check in on that as well as making the ear more pointed and longer. I think that the tree stands out to much because it is such a drastic change in colour either try an soft overlay of gray or blue to reduce the colour (but still allowing it to tie in with the eye colour) or get rid of it.
Overall i like the image i feel that you have understood that an animals fur is thicker in winter and you have choose a natural sceme of things.

yeah I noticed that (about the head) but I just didnΒ΄t know why it looked so, so thank you for explaining that ;D
