Description
Atropos was one of the Moires, the Greek goddesses of destiny. She was the one who ended life, which is why she is associated with death (surpirise!). Given this association, her name has been used for death-related things from nature. The latin name for the death's head hawkmoth for example or the poison that can be found in the deadly nightshade or angel's trumpet. All these are attributed to my portrait, which I cut from a lino block.
