Very well done using Al foil!

I know a guy who used the white side of a huge illustration board to make his backgrounds.

All legendary lenses. I'd love to get the 24mm VFC.

... And the MC fisheye. I've found both, but no way could I afford the $500 for the vfc or $? it was for the fisheye.

aah the fisheye rokkor... i wouldnt do that.
not because its a bad lens but the price relation.
for testing i would go for an m42 zenitar 16mm and adapt it to SR.

I want the mc rokkor more for it's 'low quality' era appropriate optics. I have a fish for my Nikon, and it gets near perfect quality. The price is pretty steep, but it's no where near the top of my get-it list.

Not really. But like Voltaire said: "The Better is the enemy of the Good"

Are you familiar with www.rokkorfiles.com?

Aaah, good good!

After reading the site, I went out and got myself a 28-85/3.5-4.5 MD. Much better in the corners and less clunky than my Tokina RMC 28-85/4.
Actually I bought a whole chunk of "new" lenses for my X-700 long after I got my first digital camera (DiMAGE A2 and later my Alpha 700). I even bought a 2nd hand Dynax 7000si later to give my digital era lenses a try at film.
Too bad Minolta dropped out of camera- and lens-making. The last cool minolta lens that I still frequently use on my Alpha is the notorious 500/8 AF Reflex.

I had a Tokina 35 f2 for my SRT and it was excellent!
Minolta was bought by sony, i dont know if they are still
producing glass in the old minolta factories but if they do,
sony glass is still minolta
