They always have to be better than everyone else!
Well I think that sums up the idea behind this year's Christmas submission quite nicely
I didn't know what to do in regards to a more formal artwork like I've done in past years, so I figured that I had one year already where I made an emoticon for Halloween once - might as well use one Christmas for one too 
I thought it seemed like a funny idea, and something relatively big and detailed as far as emoticons go too. The animation I at least had timed and prepared so that wasn't as difficult as some others, though it was made up for by the fact the general pixel work took longer with a more detailed background and everything
Oh well, it's their power bill that would make the electric providers very jolly

Tell me about it. I've spent the last seven years living next to the neighbour from HELL, he even threatened physical violence against me and my family and called me a "faggot" numerous times. He also would rev his car in the wee hours of the morning when it was still dark and then throw a shit-fit because we mowed the lawns a little early some days. He just moved out recently and I have never felt so relieved. I can actually work in my front garden now without fear and anxiety overcoming me just because I saw his stupid truck pull into the driveway. Goodbye and good riddance to that trashy doped up peice of shit! He's someone else's problem now - those poor suckers in his new community have no idea what they're in for. But I don't care, I had my "turn" for long enough
But recently there's a new one a few houses further away with a young son who frequently bullies his younger sister so there's lots of screaming and crying. Then the dipshit dad comes storming out and threatens both, calling them stupid pieces of shit and telling them to shut the fuck up and whatnot, yeah great example your'e setting for your son there mate - another future sociopath bred by this oh so amazing lower class suburban hell-hole's "culture" that I'm forced to call home. Ugh I wish someone going overboard with Christmas decorations was all I had to deal with. But when you don't have a lot of money you have to live among the shit-kickers.

I know that time of year has passed (and went by uneventfully) but I must comment!Β
My neighborhood isn't gung ho about holidays, so I never see bright lights shining through my windows at all times. Every year I do drive past houses that get a little too excited about it and could probably be seen from space!Β Β The inflatables rather than the lights are the ultimate in tacky.Β

There's some well-lit houses in a street near mine, but none I can actually see from my own (just a few here an there with a "lazy" light setup, I suppose it's better than nothing though, as a street with not one house lit up on Christmas does seem kinda depressing) I draw the line at those inflatable things though - I hate those too

Have you seen the projector that makes tiny little red and green lights all over houses at night? That's really cool. I don't know what it's called. It's not blindingly bright or tacky.Β

Yes, a couple of houses around here had that last Christmas had that already, they look pretty neat, but they still don't compare to actual hung-up lights (but can be a good add-on feature to said lights)

It's more subtle, so it's nice. I drove past a house that had nearly every inch covered in strings of lights. It was too bright.Β

I never did. But as kids my parents took me and my brothers to this one street nearby that has practically every house like this. It was surprising how everyone agreed to spend so much time and money making a spectacle of their neighbourhood like that. It's the sort of community interaction you don't see much of these days
