I'll buy a subscribtion to anyone who has seen a more realistic interpretation of Super mario World...even in the games Lol.Well that was my intention anyway, Mario games have always had a cartoony charm about them which is why I enjoy them so much. I decided to do this after playing some of the older games, and the one on DS.
The hills, mushroom, fruits and block of land in the foreground were modelled in Cinema 4D, while the rest and some of the textures were done in Vue 6. Some of the textures were made by me in Photoshop. The final render had minimal Photoshop input ( aside from minor cloning and smoothing of undesirsble features ). Surprisingly, the render took just over 4 hours...pretty quick by my standards.
....Makes me wonder what bowser would look like ?

Lol, I actually have heaps of 3D scens like this in mind, but I'm always putting it off. A Sonic one will be a must-do, along with others I will wait until I get better, like perhaps a scene from Sponebob Squarepants, or even the Simpsons house

I have thought about making something animated ( like Kirbomb ) where Mario passes by and the Hills eyes follow him lol...But I can't make promises of that at the moment.

I love the idea of a realistic-looking 3D Mario universe. Considering the totally unrealistic, fairytale-like universe in which the Mario brothers live, seeing something even as close to this is positively scaring. I mean, I would be totally freaked out at the vision of eyed hills... or mushrooms.
