....unlike her more responsible sister, Cyngus, Izzy McKenzy was flighty. She rarely focused on anything for more than a few weeks at a time, constantly changed her appearance, and flitted from job to job, which made coming up with her share of the rent a major struggle. After reinventing herself for the umpteenth time as a "punk girl" and starting to carouse with a group of loutish bikers, she ends up fighting with her sister more viciously than usual. After riding away with her current boyfriend, they get in an accident. Although her injuries are not severe, Izzy suffers a stroke of bad luck -- out of all the thousands of people currently being admitted to government hospitals that day, she fits certain criteria that make her ideal to be the first clandestine test specimen. She vanishes, and all records of her existence are soon erased. She wakes in the custody of a certain mysterious scientist, and is subjected to a prototype genetic serum. The scientist doesn't expect her to survive, and only wants to gather data from her hideously mutated corpse that will be useful in her quest for immortality. After becoming gelatinous and melting into a puddle, Izzy shocks he captors by reforming -- although the process effectively wipes out her long-term memories. After being isolated, manipulated, and put into storage, she's deemed harmless -- although her flighty nature soon reasserts itself and she escapes on a whim. She has no memory of her sister, who is searching desperately for her.

Her name, obviously, comes from a random incident with a child who calls her "icky," which sounds similar to "Izzy," and she mistakes it for her real name.

Icky's powers are fairly minimal -- she's ageless and can regenerate from almost any injury, although any damage she suffers to her head cause her to lose whatever memories she might have gained in the meantime.
