Born blind, Song was home-school and had relied on her mother, who had a heart problem, for most of her task, but one night her mother had a fatal heart-attack and Lou couldn't feel around for the phone in time to save her, so all she could do was hear her mother's dying breaths. After 3 months later of assigned nurses to help her, she soon moved in with her cousin and her five sisters who loved her dearly but were always busy, Song decided to become more self-reliant on her great hearing to get around and and about and go to a real school
