I thought my dad...was a bad man. Even though I do remember him. It's vague, but I do remember. He was kind and I can recall the things he gave me. But I still thought that he would take my mom away from me.

I believe the song is about how a person's father left while they were little so the person finds it hard to love their father. I can kind of relate with my mother, but the song really reminds me of Tohru because she is confused about how to feel towards her father who died when she was very little. Her mother was so upset when he died that for a while, she forgot about Tohru, who was so afraid her mother would leave her behind, she began to blame her father.
I'm in a good mood so I didn't want to post such a sad picture xDD But I had the idea and I wanted to make it while it was fresh in my mind.
