Disney Princess Lip Art #2ALICE LIP ART
Here is the second one of the series. I'm very happy with this one. I try to be as much objective as I can...but I don't like Mulan as much as Alice
, so some lip art are made with more love and effort than others...(i'm human,lol)I used:
* red lipstick
* liquid eyeliner
* teal blue pigment
* purple and pink lip pencils
* white creamy makeup as a base

This one may be a little short.
First thing I noticed was how psychedelic these lipped looked. I instantly thought of Alice in Wonderland without any assistance from the tag or notice the cheshire cat stripes!
The Tag is perfect, and it actually confused me for a bit. It looks as if the make up string of the tag turns into an actual string! It's simply wonderful.
What I love most about it is how each section of the tag seems to represent a different character.
Red: Queen of Hearts.
Purple/Pink: Cheshire Cat
Checkers: Mad Hatter
Light Blue: Alice
I love this so much, definitely one of my favorites!
And don't think I didn't notice the beautiful blonde hair, which instantly makes me think of Alice.

My only question is: Is that your actual hair? If so, it is beautiful. You made a great choice in showing it in this specific picture, as it makes one think of Alice, although it is not noticed right away.
Another thing I noticed is that each section appears to have a different texture. The blue section has a bit of a glossy look to it, but not as much as the checkered section. The Cheshire section looks a bit rough, like thick fur, and the queen of hearts section? Hard to tell, but I somewhat like how it's the section that's shadowed as it makes me remember that the Queen of Hearts is the bad guy. ^^
The last thing I will say is that one of the reasons I love your deviations is because of the sheer amount of well employed subtlety, use of color, and the contrast. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="
Mostly the subtlety, which surprises me every time.

I love your technique with makeup! Since Alice in Wonderland is a twisted story, I love the many designs, the drink me tag really stands out. All the effort makes it even more spontaneous. I do believe you can make lots of money from this. I do believe you did a fine job and I never seen anything like it in my life. It is beautifully bold and I'd love to see more from you. The bright colors and the darker colors makes an amazing contrast. The white and black make it seem like a magical piece of art. Once again, good job and I'd love to see more!

The cut of the picture is well chosen, allthough I think you could have left a little more room above the lips because the picture should actually show your work, thus the beautiful lips and this way their top end is nearly out of the photograph...but i think thats a matter of taste. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s⦠" width="19" height="19" alt="
The light is good, not too much shadows, not too much light but enough to see the blond hair shining in the backround.
To the lip art:
I like the idea of splitting the lips into 4 parts. This makes it a challange to match the colours, which you managed well, especially on the upper lip, where pink and red comes togheter but they don´t bother each other. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="
I also like the way you did the border between the ceshire cat- and the heart qeen part on the upper lip. This kind of gives the appearence, that you can see only the cats tail and there is more of it somewhere under the red colour.
But I think that there is missing a purple stripe in the ceshire cat part... it kind of irritates me and it makes the end of the lip a bit thick or just not quite right, allthough the frames are drawn clearly...
The border between the checkboard and the blue dress-colour (at least I think this is supposed to be the colour of Alice´s dress e.deviantart.net/emoticons/a/a⦠" width="19" height="19" alt="
It is surely VERY difficult to draw a checkboard on a lip e.deviantart.net/emoticons/w/w⦠" width="15" height="17" alt="
but again the frames are clear and clean.
The Last (but not least) point of qritique:
I think the note should say "eat me" instead of "drink me" e.deviantart.net/emoticons/w/w⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="
