This may be old news to some, but according to the LA Times, the classic Terrytoons character Mighty Mouse is apparently poised to make a (triumphant?) return sometime in the next couple of years, with Paramount currently developing a “reboot” of the animated series for the big screen.The property is likely a gold mine, considering the popularity of both superhero flicks and family-oriented live-action / CG hybrid comedies. Unfortunately, I think the ultimate goal will be to recreate the success of movies like Alvin and the Chipmunks instead.
Not clear yet if they’ll consider some hybrid live/animation like Alvin and the Chipmunks, or a movie in full CGI... but I’m pretty sure it’s gonna be in 3D…!!!

love this! I was around 5 years old when I discovered MM back in the early 60's. I think he started my life long fascination with super heroes and animation.

I think the Mighty Mouse feature is good as dead, I haven't heard anything new about it. But either way, if they should do a new mighty mouse feature it has to be done in 2D animation. I cant picture a Mighty Mouse movie done in CGI or a hybrid viva la Alvin and the chipmunks.

O_O I'd prefer old school with no CGing at all. I think it ruins things. Look what happened to Alvin and the Chipmunks. They made crassier and inapproiate. *shrugs*
The one they made M.M in the late 70s I liked it alot. But I never liked the cartoon they made in the 80s or 90s I think and I never like how they drew the expressions. Made think of Ren & Stimpy. x.x

This is awesome. You take the Terrytoon original and use it as a basis and take the design to the next level.
I actually WISH that CBS/Paramount would make their Mighty Mouse movie look like this, instead of seven kinds of CGI roadkill.

Terrific job on this, Chuck! The layout and the colors are wonderful! Another classic, my friend! I'm not holding my breath for the return of MM, though. Suits always muck it up...making the characters we loved as kids "relevant" to today's kids. An urban Mighty Mouse with annoying references to pop culture. All in stupid 3D. *sigh*
