Description My theme for this collection is Vanity. I started of with the concept of Seven Deadly Sins, in which Vanity is one of them. Vanity is the excessive belief in one's own abilities or attractiveness to others. In some religious teachings vanity is considered a form of self-idolatry, in which one rejects God for the sake of one's own image, and thereby becomes divorced from the graces of God. The stories of Lucifer and Narcissus (who gave us the term narcissism), and others, attend to a pernicious aspect of vanity. Other Symbols of Vanity includes Peacock, jewels, and sparkles, etc.
In my collection, I would implement design elements found in peacocks, such as high neck collars, lines and silhouette of the garments. Crystals and jewels would also be added into my designs, thus portraying a feminine and glamorous look. Since it is a white collection, I would emphasize on textures to make the designs more interesting. My color choice would be pure white and shades of off white (ivory).
My target customers are women of ages between 20 to28. In which to say, my customers would be young adults and working adults. Thus, I would be designing for high street market, where price is affordable and reasonable for them.
