I want to learn to do this. I don't know how to start. How do you keep it so light and spontaneous, so dreamy? When I try, it looks heavy and overworked. Love, love, love your style.

Hallo Jiuhl! γΎ(βγΌβ)γ
Thank you again, I'm glad you like it.
I'll do my best to explain! I begin with light washes of yellows, oranges, greens and blues; I make sure they are vibrant, but also light. I also adjust where I want particular colours, not necessarily in accordance with a reference (photo or real life). I leave the paper untouched in the lightest areas. Then I layer over (about 3 to 5 times) with brighter and darker colours until I get the right amount of contrast. I'm always careful that I don't layer too many colours or it will become muddy. The most fun is making up where colours go (like purple-red shadows or blue trees). Watercolour is a very spontaneous medium that can be tricky to utilize, but it is also very fun and versatile. Well, this is what I do; I hope this helps. (,, ο½₯βο½₯)οΎγ

Oh wow, thank you for the tips! I am going to try again, step-by-step. That first link looks the easiest, so I am going to follow that, but with a different subject. Last night I thought about how I could produce something dreamy like you create, so I am going to paint a door and my dog--maybe...if I can. Thank you for the new inspiration. You're so kind to help me.

I'm honored that you asked me, and good luck! I'm sure you can do it; your other paintings show you have the skill. Would you care to show me when your done? γ½(Β΄γΌ`)οΎ

I was showing these paintings to my dad, and he remarked that everyone who paints watercolour seems to have a certain level of artistry xD
