A while ago, somewhere...I guess...Can’t wait to see Star Wars The Force Awakens...so here’s a tribute to an awesome character design in a not so awesome prequel thing.
Always was fascinated in how Sith build their lightsaber, I imagine very angrily...

Absolutely beautiful setup here; his expression, the pose, and the light from the crystals, not to mention the inner workings of the saber itself-all very awesome! Also my only real favorite character from that movie; they did a nice prequel book about him.

Well for starters the crystals they use are synthetic. In order to avoid unnecessary conflict

Anger is a big part of sith saber building. The crystals they use are created artificially. They basically cook them in some kind of furnace and focus their hatred/the force into them to shape them
I wonder what would happen if you took one of the crystal gems (in gem form) from Steven universe, and put them in a light saber

So what did happen to maul at the end of his story ark in Star Wars the clone wars? Did the emperor kill him or what?

Maul lived and escaped Sidious. We also find out that Mother Talzin is Darth Maul's actual mother. The two of them tried to kill Sidious, Dooku and Grievous together, but Talzin herself is killed and Maul flees into exile, never to become a Sith again.
