Description This might seem like an unusual image from me, but every once in a long while even I do an image that doesn't appeal to the more prurient of interests

Also, as usual, such images are inspired by the music I'm listening to at the time.

In this case a song by Loreena McKennitt called the "Lady of Shalott", which is a musical version of the poem by Alfred Lord Tennyson:

Youtube Video of McKennitt performing the song: [link]

I'm not into poetry, but sometimes some of the music I listen to incorporates a poem into the song (and mostly work by Loreena or Enya).

Okay, next week we return to our usual Render Pr0n

This is actually very nice!  Love the colors!

Hey, not into poetry either but...I do love literature.

I may try a 'Take Two' of this one sometime in the near future; I've gotten a much better version of Poser since I made this one, and my skill has improved marginally in that time as well

Now, that would be really interesting to see.

I love Loreena McKennitt, and particularly that song. It's got such a sad ending, though.

Yeah.

If it weren't for her, I probably wouldn't be aware of any poetry at all (she often sets some poems to music, another favorite of mine being "The Stolen Child" by Yeats

For a couple of years now, I've considered doing a graphic novel adaptation of "The Highwayman" (full version, though, not her abridged lyrics), but I've never gotten around to it.

Ah, I had forgotten about that one until just now (time to dig out that album again and give a listen ).

Why is she in a canoe?

I think I just realized you may have been asking me another question entirely.

Well, in the poem/song, the Lady of Shalott becomes tired of viewing life through her magic mirror, despite the curse upon her.

She leaves her tower and sets out in a boat towards Camelot, but dies before reaching it because of the curse (yep, sad story ).

The Wikipedia link above has more info on the poem, as well as the art inspired by it.

I'm fully aware of the poem, I just doubt there were many Native American canoes on the river that flowed down to Camelot!

LOL!

That's the second time I've had that question asked

simple answer is: I didn't have a more ornate boat like in the actual painting, only this canoe ^_^

This is nice man. Truth be told I was getting tired of the Pr0n. This is a beautiful work and a nice change of pace.

Well I (like many others here at DA I've found), am in this for the Pr0n, although occasionally its nice to step away from it for awhile

Thanks

I lucked out a bit in finding some 'elvish' runes to put on the boat. I was going to spell out 'Shalott", but got lazy and just left it at 'Shal' (looks 'elvish' enough)
