Thanatos: Grim doesn't really have much to do with his first born son. he sees him often as Hagen has taken him in, but he rarely talks to him. He has distanced himself from his child even more as he has aged, possibly out of guilt, though he would never admit to that. He does enjoy seeing how Thanatos has grown and flurished though. Another thing he will never admit.

Raleigh and Ceira: Both twins live in Glenmore now with a foster mother so Maugrim doesn't get to see them. However, he thinks this is for the best and knows they will be safe there.

Details
Personality: As he has aged, Maugrim has found himself and his nice more and more. He is less brash and reckless, preferring to stay to himself. He seems himself as above most other stags in his herd, even those that are obviously stronger and more intelligent than him. He is vain as anything, believeing his skills in magic and everything else are far better than they are. He adores the idea of teaching others and thinks all young stags should wish to share in his knowledge. He has many dreams of granduer, believing that he would make an excellent king, much better than their current or any of their past rulers.

After the trauma he went through of loosing Thalia, and then the second doe to bare his child; Aoife, Maugrim is always quite withdrawn when it comes to does. It's almost as if he thinks that he is somehow cursed and was responsible for the two passing away after birthing his fawns. This is mostly due to Aoife being so confident in him, believing that their coupling would be perfect and convincing him of the same. Due to this, he spends very little time with his children. He trusts Hagen to teach his Thanatos right and he doesn't wish to see his daughters though. They bring just a little too much upset to him. He is somewhat glad they have been taken to Glenmore where they will have more access to food to be able to survive. Because of all of this, many think that responsibility is not in his nature, and in truth, it isn't. Not really. He would make a poor leader, and a worse king despite his own thoughts upon the matter.

Appearance: Despite being a trained soldier before his little accident, Grim bares few scars. His only obvious injury is the lack of a good portion of his tail which was taken by a wolf during a tragic mission he and a few other bucks undertook. He will never tell others of what happened, and will act as if it makes him stronger for surviving what might have killed most. However, deep down he is still horrified of what happened, and what he did. He still believes the accident to be his fault. That his friends died because of him. He hides this as well as he can though, and will never talk of it.

History: Maugrim was boring to a loving mother and a rather proud father. He grew up being the apple of his mother's eye along with his brother, and found he had most of his father's attention. Of course, his father had other fawns by different mothers and Grim has met them on the odd occasion. However, as a fawn he didn't quite understand who they were or why his father was around them but his mother was not. He believed his mother and father to be faithful to one another, as little fawns do. But as he grew older he realised what had happened and stayed away.

His father tried his best to teach his beloved sonm everything he knew, and his mother would lay with him and his brother at night, regaling them with stories of the gods, and of Uir and their magic, and of respect for the does and Uir's wrath. With all of this knowledge within him, Grim was always eager to know more, but often sometimes too eager to think quite highly of himself. He assumed he was somehow better than others, which could often be considered his downfall.

During adolescence, the buck showed good promise with his magic, and both his father and mother would spend time teaching him. Or trying to, at least. However, Grim was more preoccupied with sparring with other bucks his age, and going on adventures to try and put the little Glenmore fawns that would wonder into the Blackwood in their place. His father had taught him of the hatred for Glenmores and their strange ways, but he had half Glenmore siblings. His father had taken does from the greener woods as his mate in some seasons, so this confused Grim. He would never harm one of the curious fawns he found, but his people told that he couldn't allow them free reign over the place.

Once he had proven himself, and under his father's strict guidance, Maugrim became a raider. He had been taught it would be his way to prove he was strong, had worth, and to rise ranks in the herd. He was all for the idea, eager to show he was the best of the best. But, his accident put an end to this. He tried to command groups too early, took it on himself to go against his commands and elder soldiers to do as he thought was right. So he paid the price. While he was found barely clinging to life, his distraught mother approached the witches and healers of the herd and he was placed under Hagen's care. The stag saved his life, and in return, Grim became his apprentice. If approached before his accident, Maugrim may have scoffed at the idea of becoming a witch, but something about that stag changed his mind. Possibly how he was able to not only cope, but thrive with such an injury, or perhaps just because of his dark sense of humour. Maugrim will never let on, but he does enjoy his mentor's company.

Now, as an adult, Maugrim wishes to be the best he can possibly be, and will put every ounce of his energy into a cause that he believes is right. Finding another mate is out of the question for the foreseeable future, however he is aware he can't close off his heart forever. He focuses himself in bettering his magic and making plots he will never carry through against others he doesn't like.
