Lily's eyes especially make it look as if she's following James along like a zombie. Did he Imperio her? No wonder Severus is trying to pull her back so desperately. Yet she doesn't even notice him, and walks mindlessly to her doom.

In my opinion, "The Prince's Tale" is the only part of Deathly Hallows worth reading. I hope they don't completely butcher it in the final film, but they probably will since they've included only the sketchiest backstory in the earlier films.

At least half of the final film would have to be devoted to "The Prince's Tale" to do Sev justice, and have the entire saga make sense. In the film series as a whole there are an enormous number of things that remain unexplained if one doesn't read the books. As always, books count, films don't.

I fell in love with Snape during DH...he really almost literally went from my least favorite character to my favorite character. I really started crying when he *SPOILER* died. The two characters I started crying about were Sirius and Snape. I am so glad that Harry and Ginny named their kid Albus Severus!

This is amazing! Snape looks so much like himself, Lily isn't a Ginny!Lily for once, and James is just perfect. He's exactly the "Harry but with deliberate mistakes".
Perhaps it's just me over-analyzing, but this looks like a more symbolic piece. Here is what I see:
Lily adores Severus as a friend (as evidenced by the firm grip she has on his wrist), but he's slowly being left behind in time as Lily distances herself from him and his choice in friends.
In the meantime, Lily also finds herself drawn to James, who she doesn't quite see as devil-spawned anymore (or maybe I should say 'yet', since they look a tad younger here). He's being a charmer, but she can't deal with his cruel side, the only side she knows, and while she can catch glimpses of a better person, Lily is very hesitant to just welcoming him (as evidenced by her looser grip on James' hand).
