his face is incredible, but I can see what you mean about this hand. his index finger has one too many joints.. unless he was born that way. hehe^^ and their salute has their hand a smidge more to the right, and the other folded behind them in the same manner, but hey.. its your piece. You make it however you want

Oh, wow! That must have taken quite a bit of work ; w ; I was never too good with anatomy, since... ugh, I never took the initiative to actually go ahead and try to practice a bit, but I think I will now ; w ; I'm only 13 now, so I do think I've got quite a bit of time to improve. I haven't taken any formal art lessons until last year, so... I guess that's why my proportions are a bit on the wonky side

HOLY CRAP!! for 13 you definitely got talent!!! wow!! I was just getting into the anime style--coming from disney--and scribbling crap when I was 13. you got a leg up on me with that, so yea definitely if you practiced your anatomy you would be for sure EXTREMELY skilled
Haha yeah. I love drawing. Nothing beats that freedom of expression. I also game a lot. ^^ and am an anime nut as well
while I took classes, they really didn't help much.. other than shading/coloring techniques. A lot was self initiated instruction aka self-teaching by looking off people's works and mimicking them.Β
while I can draw from my head, I prefer to draw while looking at pictures I take of things (just so I can make sure my proportions are life-like) or I ask my friends for their pictures off facebook so I can draw them. Its so crazy because they end up looking almost exactly like them minus some scaling differences because of cartooning.^^
But yeah, just keep practicing. If you are that good at 13 who knows how epically amazing you will be at my age =3

I started getting more into anime/manga-type drawings when I was ten o 3 o My friends influenced me into watching Bleach, which my style is preeeetty much based on (pah I don't like drawing bottom lips xD). Thank youuuu~ <3 I'm definitely going to be working on my anatomy sooner than later xD As well as shading clothing, since I'm not too good at that. Heck, the only part I can decently shade, really, is the head "OTL

Yeeeaaah, I think so, too. I go on dA and Youtube, and learn a lot more from watching speedpaints and reading tutorials than actually taking classes xD Those only helped with a bit of anatomy, I suppose. I usually just draw from my head, which explains the wonky proportions, but I think I'm going to start using reference images so it looks more accurate. And flip my canvas horizontally around a lot to see if it looks weird from the other side xD

very nice! you know that trick!! (the horizontal flip) haha. my mom taught me that back while I was in HS because I was wondering why I kept getting poor ratings as far as techincality.. and low and behold that was the problem. she told me that trick. She had taught herself how to do that. She is quite impressive. My mom used to draw realistic birds and horses, as well as other types of animals. She's like super good. Sadly, she never draws as much as she used to.. actually I haven't seen her at all pick up any type of drawing media.. =/ My dad is an architect so I get the more technical, precise idea from him. haha.
My brothers, one hasn't really found his talent yet, and the other has..and works with 3D modeling, rendering and map making.. he also works with scripting too. (he wants to make a video game with one of his friends one day) My little sister loves to song write, storywrite, play the guitar and sing. I like to storywrite as well.. but yeah. I enjoy telling my stories through pictures more. haha.

Oh, woooow. ;~; None of my family members draw at all. They're all down for math, science, you know, the typical Asian things you'd see xD So I never actually got the chance to learn from them. The horizontal flip trick has helped me sooooo much! Without it, all my pictures would be even wonkier than they already are and I wouldn't notice a thing xD Do you have, like, a family of artists or something? It sure sounds like it, after all xD
Oooh! One of my friends is actually working on scripting fo a small indie game project, and he asked if I wanted to help do the CG artwork, since it's going to be a mostly pixel-arted game, with the occassional pretty picture. o 3 o It's going to be fun to work on. My brother's more into the techy types of things, too... And I love both writing and drawing n w nΒ

lol. actually I'm the only member of my family that has kept up their talents besides my sister and my brother.. I almost fell through when I went through that period of not drawing.. I almost went the same road my mom did.. I mean she still does art stuff.. just not as intense and involving as she did in HS. which is sad.. because she truly was AMAZING. I've inherited my late Great Grandma's (on my mom's side) knack for portrait art. She was also extremely talented.Β
So I was like nope. I'm going to keep drawing. There's no way I'm letting this talent escape. I'm going to work and develop it until I can't develop it anymore.
But thats pretty sweet! Yay for developing pixel art!!

Oh, wow. I sometimes have those periods of not drawing at all, too, but those usually only last for around a month or two before I see some amazing artwork, get motivated and jump right back on the bandwagon xD Dammit, none of my family members draw so I can't get any advice or anything from them "OTLΒ
Oh, wow! Those are big aspirations, since they're all really big and powerful companies ; w ; Especally SE and Dreamworks xD Good luck on getting in! It'll be tough, but I think you'll be able to do it ^^ I myself am going into neuroscience, since I don't plan on doing art as anything more than a side thing, for fun :'D Buuuuuut I'll probably be spending loads of time doodling since I love art too much to only have it as a hobby "OTL
