-Daniela Paguro: Luca's mother. She is very apprehensive towards her son and is she who prevents him from going to the surface for fear of humans. Luckily at the end of the movie she changed her mind.
-Lorenzo Paguro: Luca's father. He has a crab farm and is a laid back guy. He is less apprehensive than his wife, but he worries a lot about his son too.
-Libera Paguro: Luca's grandmother and Daniela's mother. She has always defended her grandson, indulging his curiosity towards the surface. She has interacted with humans before.
-Ugo Paguro: Luca's uncle and Lorenzo's brother. He lives in the depths of the sea and is an eccentric guy. Daniela, as punishment, was about to send her son to him.
