This, ladies and gents, is an emperor taking the day off. Yes, you heard that aright, emperor, which is what her title roughly translates to; rather than being someone's consort, she rules in her own right. Think god-king in Japanese.

This is a fairly casual outfit, at least for her. By casual I mean that she can put it on herself with only minimal difficulty; fastening the sash round the back takes some work, as does clambering into her shoes. You'll notice certain styles that come from different eras, as her empire resembles 17th century Europe getting hit smack in the mouth by Chinese cultures and customs.

I know she looks like she's over balancing; pretend she is and she's leaning back against something. The real thing is much nicer looking than this; my camera washes everything out at the moment, I'm afraid.
