So cute!! I love that the focus here is just them looking cute and comfortable in lingerie, and not necessarily sexualizing them. Well done!

This piece does a nice job conveying how these two contrast yet compliment each other so well. Elsa and Anna's expressions show they're enjoying this intimate moment together.
Very lovely work and thank you for sharing!

Honestly...if you see incest that's your deal. As the description says. Maybe their pose is a bit on the edge but me and my sister used to walk around in our undies and it was no big deal. I don't see them kissing or doing anything sexual. Grow up and don't take hisngs to seriously.

There is nothing to be "justified" here. Part of doing art with characters is to operate in the realm of fantasy; Elsa and Anna are fictional characters, not real people. When someone draws or ships two characters, even in a incestual relationship, it does not mean it "justifies" it in the real world. Even if it did, so what? The world does not conform to any one way of thinking, especially in the private lives of individuals; nor should it ever do so.
The human mind is extremely complex and who we find attractive as a partner is not based upon simple choice. Just because you find a particular relationship wrong or undesirable does not mean it should be barred to everyone. You, ma'am, have absolutely no say in who someone forms a relationship with in the real world, or in the formation of a fictional relationship in someone's piece of art. Just because you don't find it cute does not mean the entirety of DA suddenly has to conform to your take on relationships.Β
Separate reality from fantasy and fiction. This is a piece of art just like others what show heterosexual relationships within the Frozen universe.

Actually, I never said I had a say in who kisses who, I just think it's kind of gross that a brother could look at his sister and think 'We should fuck!' Look, there's a difference between meeting a distant relative you never knew was related to you, and learning to love them, and looking at one of your family members and saying 'You're hot! Want to fuck?' And BTW, thank you for pointing out the obvious.Β

LaurenAndLawliet In reply to TheAdorkableNerd [2014-05-05 11:53:09 +0000 UTC]
It is not as simple at "we should fuck". Why do you assume that siblings who may be attracted to each other are solely focused on sex? The picture is not even implying a sexual relationship, though the feel of it is definitely sexy.
I never implied that you said you had a say in "who kisses who", but when you say "And trust me, no one thinks it's cute, or okay. THat's a minority" and of "justifying" a certain action, it certainly implies that you think you have the higher authority in that situation.Β
I happen to find this relationship possibility cute, when it's done right. Personally, I could not care less about whether they are sisters or not, if I find the relationship believable and based on their love for each other, then the fact that they are sisters does not matter much to me. I certainly believe it's okay to do as well.Β
To expand on your comment however, what if the siblings -brother/sister, sister/sister, brother/brother, did not know they were related and still found each other attractive and wanted to be in a genuine relationship? Is it the fact that they are blood related that affects your outlook? That's perfectly understandable; nature itself dictates that mating with immediate family in a species often produces offspring that are genetically flawed. However, humans no longer have to truly worry about conceiving unwanted offspring; there are means of birth control and permanent sterilization that still allow for a healthy sex life. And that's just for heterosexual couples. Homosexual couples would not even have to worry about potentially conceiving offspring.
I think you miss the point of a relationship when you reduce it down to its most basic of components. Sex is only part of a relationship, though it plays a big role. Often those who want to be in a long term relationship do not simply look at each other with the sole thought of future sex. Β This also extends to siblings who may find themselves attracted to each other.
Again, the bottom line is that this picture is not championing some way of thinking. Even the artist says "You see what you want to see".
From the picture, I think it seems more like a pin-up poster. Sure the "models" may be sisters, but in no way does it imply that they are in a sexual relationship. It's just a simple sexy pose.
Even if it did imply a sexual relationship though, you have to consider that somewhere in the world, I guarantee you, there are siblings who want to be in a genuine relationship, and not for the reason of "you're hot, let's fuck". Whatever your views, you must respect those who find themselves in that situation.Β And you must respect the right of an creative person to place characters where she/she believes fit within their creative mind.

To respond to your comment on long lost brothers or sisters finding true love, has actually happened before. I cannot remember the title, however, it explained how these two dated, planned to get married, and then realised that they were brother and sister. Sadly, however, some, rarely, but not all relationships revolve around sex. There was this one website where kids would post confessions about incest. However, most relationships are regular relationships. Sadly, the bad minority stands out like a sore thumb and the certain group looks bad.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genetic_β¦ talks about other instances in which couples meet not realising they're related.

Actually an interesting article, thank you for providing the link.
And unfortunately there will always be minorities that are just a little to far out of the social norm to be viewed as anything other than strange or lesser than the average person. The same feelings can be said for many people with obscure sexual fetishes such as acrotomophilia or vorarephilia. Those may seem extreme to other people, but that does not believe they deserve to be viewed as bad people. In fact it is often for people with these and many other sexualities to end up hiding ore leading a double life so they won't be viewed as a bad person by those who know them. I can relate to that personally in the way that my parents, who both went through difficult times in their relationship, began to delve into the practice of BDSM to reinvent their sex life. At first I was a bit mad they would hide it from me, especially when I knew that it was going on anyway and didn't care in the slightest, but I had to accept that it was embarrassing for them. Looking back now I would probably assume that it is because they are both of the Christian faith and both have very religious families.
This is why I responded to your comment in the first place; you pointed out that there is a minority that thinks shipping or coupling sibling characters is okay, is actually a minority. Even if that minority is outside the social norm, and even if you think it makes them look bad, they should still have the right to feel comfortable in what they do, right? Whether their own relationship or their character's relationship centers on sex or if sex is just a part of the character like personality and past. While you may not have realized, and I don't think you're a mean or bad person in any way -for one, I don't even know you-, but your comment came off as if you were angry that the artist had supporters of this sister/sister pairing. While I believe you're entitled to your own opinion about any subject, I also hold the believe that those who are fine with this coupling are entitled to enjoy this and other art pieces without others putting them down for it.
This is why I responded a bit more harshly, or at least more defensive than I usually would. I'm the kind of person who defends others when they are made to feel guilty or who are put down for something they enjoy. For example, my aunt was made to feel extremely guilty for playing Dungeons and Dragons as a teenager, because her very religious parents viewed it as witchcraft and against their religion. I have my own feelings towards some subjects, such as sexuality and religion, that I keep hidden because of how I know they are sometimes received by other people. Anyway, I realize how long these responses are so in shortening this one slightly; I responded because I felt the artist's work and those who enjoyed it needed someone to justify or defend their enjoyment, and I should not have too. Everyone has subjects their are for and against, and when it comes to a subject like this, no one should be put down even if they are part of the minority.

All right.
That Disclaimer.
Have a hug.
Pretty colour pick, as usual.
And I'm very glad you pick that background, it isn't easy to pick one with colours that fits/blends perfectly with Elsa's transparent cape thingy.
I'm admitting that since well, I experience it first hand.
While to some people it might looked slightly pink/purpleish, I think that's the effect integrated from well, your colour pick.
Personally I think Elsa should be more pale skinned, but I loved this colour pick/palette as well. It's more than fine.
What a very delightful composition.
Moving on to Elsa's pinkish thing (I'll assume it's freckles, not blush Idon'tbelieveI'msayingthat).
It's indeed rare to see arts which depicted her to be having freckles (she does have them, slightly). This piece will sure delight everyone who loves 'em.
Fascinating details you've placed on their outfit, from Elsa's lingeries, she looks perfect from head to toe (that shoe, that ribbon, that everything), to Anna's astonishing details on her lingeries and boots (nice embroidery, loved it).
And also, I loved how you got them to have their nail polished. Pretty colour pick on it, I would have think pink shades suits Anna better for the nails, but you've managed to convince me that she could look sexy with deep purple colour.
It looks both sexy and yet cute at the same time, so congratulations! Mission accomplished!
.... I ended up writing a sort of critique comment, I hope you don't mind. I can't help it. I just have to do it.
Now the best part after all that wall of text (for me):
