Hypo/hyperkalemia (potassium derangement) is one of the H's & T's, AKA reversible causes of cardiac arrest.These can cause irregular heartbeats (arrhythmias) which lead to cardiac arrest. This happens by destabilising the normal electrical rhythm of the heart.
