Description Horace found a perfect Halloween costume. Don't think too hard about the logistics of a horse riding another horse. Or where he found it.

If this is Horace Horseneck, then it was one of many Disney characters that made a few appearances in the films -and then disappeared - failures.

Every animated film stable has one or more failures.

One fan-fic that I don't think was ever finished, involved the revenge of a forgotten failure on Donald Duck for pushing him into eclipse.

Disney had a lot of little tertiary characters that were relegated to the dust bin. My favorite one was Oswald the Rabbit- though he does kind of have a bit of a cult following now.

Oswald was stolen from Disney as he didn't copyright him in his own name, but, rather, Oswald was copyrighted by the company.

Tho Disney has resumed releasing Mickey cartoons, they are mostly frenetic chase scenes, and Oswald is seen as a mystic figure.

Yeah, if I remember correctly, Mickey was invented to sort of 'replace' Oswald after Disney found out he couldn't keep him. I also remember reading that Mickey's original name was "Mortimer Mouse," but that he changed it because his wife didn't like it.

Yeah.
Mortimer was eventually used for Mickey's ratty rival, who chickened out and fled when he managed to loose a BULL and it attacked Mickey & Minnie who were picnicking.

If you peruse my "favorites" gallery, you'll spot a page where Mortimer is trying to apologize to people and ATONE for all the mess & havoc he selfishly set off in the past.

well in classic cartoons in particular there tended to be anthro animals with non anthro so its in character. One also could assume Horace is a sapient horse sub species or something. ANYWAY GREAT PIECE!

Halloween is the best time for a headless horse to ride a horse!

Hey, there we go!  I just love how the horse (not-Horace horse, of course, of course) is looking back a bit.  I sincerely believe it's trying to run away from the very thing that's riding it.

It's so good to see Horace so happy again!

Halloween is the best time of year to rip off your head and throw it at people!

Unless they keep it and hide it from you.  Trust me, Thanksgiving isn't very enjoyable when you have to eat through a funnel sticking out of your neck-hole.

Luckily, Total Recall (the GOOD one!) taught me a neat trick when it comes to severed heads:

You're disturbed!?

I saw that shit in theaters as a kid and that was the movie I really should NOT have been taken to.  I love it today, but I just was not ready for those amazing practical effects as a kid.

If I was a kid when I saw that, it would have jacked me up. Can you believe I've never seen this movie? It's on my list of "shit to watch before the bus to Hell shows up."

WATCH it!  This is right up there with John Carpenter's The Thing on the list of "reasons why practical effects are better than shitty computer ones"...it's also high on the list of "don't bother with the shitty remake" for the same reasons.

In addition to just being a damn good movie, there is just so much that's memorable.  Hell, this movie stole 3-tit woman jokes away from Picasso!  And to think, that's not even the "weird" part of this movie.  And seeing as I'm the one driving the Hell-Bus, I'll delay it just so you can see this.  And I hope you enjoy it, because while on the Hell-Bus, it's nothing but bland, inoffensive and unfunny mickey mouse shorts for the whole ride!
