Description Silver foxes are a color mutation of the common red fox. Although they do occur in the wild, they're more common in captivity, where they're bred for their increasingly popular coats. (In recent years, silver fox furs have reached record prices!)

Increasingly, they're also being bred as pets, being popularized by National Geographic and their spotlight on "tame" silver foxes from a breeding project in Russia that seeks to domesticate the animals for human companionship.

What a great idea, I would love to have a silver fox
I'm scared of dogs, but I love foxes

I've known a few people who've had them as pets. They're tricky to care for though, they're hard to train and smell bad and like to make big messes... but interesting pets none the less. Expensive pets.

It's so lovely to see artists painting more than just the regular old red fox! I'm a huge fan of the various genetic variations of Vulpes vulpes, and it's great to see that the artists are fans too!

Silver foxes are awesome even though I've never seen on irl (seen plenty of normal red foxes though). Great job on the image :3 love how you did the fur.

Thanks. I've seen a wild silver fox only once, I've seen cross foxes and red foxes a lot more though.

Blue and black, reddish eyes, and bushy tail...I just drew something similar, except more on wolf side.

I like the leaping pose, great work on painting fur.

Thanks. It's hard not to make a black fox look like a wolf, I've found.

I tend to think out loud when I type and not think before typing so random thoughts when tired or whatever.

It's weird how much snow animals kick up when leaping, ice shards and dust in the freezer seems to be a bit heavy. I want to see snow to see how powdery it is. It looks like powdered sugar but I have to remember it's still ice particles.

I always wonder how wild animals keep snow from clinging to them. Every dog and cat I've ever owned has gone outside and come back with enormous clumps caked into their fur.

Maybe they were warm enough from being inside to have snow melt on their fur than refreeze from the outdoor temperature causing them to collect refrosted snow.

That makes sense. It's a hassle.
