So I was reading on Wikipedia about the Austrio- Hungarian alliance when I suddenly got the idea for this picture.
It's of Hungary and Austria after they slipt up on June 8th, their anniversary, remembering each other ;w;
I ship them. Ship them soooooo much. If you can't see, the calendar dates are June 8th, and the pictures in the frames are of their wedding. Austria's got cut off...

Though I must admit, I actually don't really get sad on June 8th...only on October 31st, the day of their divorce. DX
On June 8th, my friends and I literally threw an anniversary party at my house with Austrian and Hungarian foods...yeah. XDDD

When you think about it, it's even more sad to think how they felt during that day during the Cold War, when both of them are unable to see eachother at all until 1989... ;_;

Cold War history for the two is sooooooo sad. Hungary is a soviet satelite while Austria is neutral but on the other side of the Iron Curtain. ;_;

It's a term used to call the division between the Eastern Bloc (Soviet Union and its satelite states) and the capitalist West (NATO countries). Though Austria was neutral, it was on the capitalist side of the Iron Curtain while Hungary, a Soviet satelite, was part of the Eastern Bloc (unwillingly). :'D
