Description One of the works I did for my Art class. I used my knowledge of lighting to good effect for this piece: I put my self in a supply closet, and ran two lights around me from the same outlet by using a set of mirrors to bounce it from different directions. Being a lighting coordinator for stage crew has done me good. Anyways... don't criticise my poor compositing technique. The paper itself was many times the size of my scanner, and it's realy late here.

the shading is excellent but the face seems odd somehow, and the shoulders. I guess if it is a self portrait, I dont want to offend you, but, the face seems too thin, or as if it should be at least an inch wider and the forehead is very high, the head itself seems to large and too long for the body, especially with the tiny, sloping shoulders, which seem slightly deformed.
The neck is very sexy

Why thank you. I like my neck too.

On the stretched quality of the face, I agree with you. It's a problem I've been combating for a while... what happens is, I draw sitting down, on a level table, so what I'm drawing is actually at a slant to my eye-level while I'm working on it, unless I lean over it. This means that although it looks in proportion to me while I am working, once I stand it up and step back, it turns out that the whole thing was actually drawn so that it looks stretched, vertically. I've started adding a little tilt to my art table, to help fight this in the future.

Thanks for noticing, though!

Dude...this is insane man. A terrific work with the shading and the lighting, it doesn't matter how real it is, the style of it is perfect. Nicely done man

Thanks alot! This work has been one of the things keeping me from finishing our collaboration... which has progressed, but isn't as complete as I want it to be. Expect it to be a while, but I am trying.
