Gus grew up in the household of a wealthy art-dealer in Paris France. At the age of six his mother passed and his distant father sent him away to boarding school. Gus never had a good relationship with his father and they rarely spoke throughout the remainder of his father's life, although he would continue to fund his extravagant lifestyle. While being stuck-up Gus is quite smart which is what led him to begin working through the ranks of the Police-Nationale up to detective. He found himself put on as a consultant on a murder case in New York city which is where he was partnered with Yu. Gus knows he's handsome and is not shy about flaunting himself, and his money, around. He enjoys getting on Yu's nerves as well as seeing her flustered. Despite his asshole exterior Gus is actually a very sensitive person who cares very deeply about others and does want to do what he can to solve crimes and make people's lives better.
