I'm glad you picked up the pencil again- this proves you're no less skilled with passing of time.
I must applaud the patterns on the scales, it speaks volume of time and care. Each of the spots are different, and that's something I have to commend. Each one looks as natural as the other. The tail thickens very well as it rises around the girl, and the slight slants of the coils are extremely well done. All All I can really say about the coils is that they look very natural. Extremely eye-catching, yet not at all distracting from the rest of the picture due to imperfections.
The girl's pendant is a lovely little touch. Also, seeing the depressions of the collar bones is a very subtle but helpful feature. The girl's arms curl slightly inward with the coils around her, and her expression perfectly conveys her anxiety. A slight blush on her cheeks, eyes widened, and biting her lip.
Also, I always love seeing what you do with hair in your drawings.
The shading for both every aspect of the girl and the snake's coils is perfect. The spots aren't too dark as to distract from the rest of the tail, and the girl's hair casts a slight shadow over its right side as evidenced by the slight variance in shade.
All in all, amazing drawing, and I wish you all the best for future works!
